Gort GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located in Gort, County Galway, Ireland. Founded at the turn of the 20th century, the club is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. Father Griffins is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Father Griffins are a Gaelic football club. Before their Amalgamation with Éire Óg, Father Griffins experienced regular success in Galway from their founding in 1948 until their final County title in 1975. Dunmore MacHales GAA ( ga, CLG Dún Mhór Mhic Eil) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dunmore, County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of Galway GAA. Though the McHales are the first team to have won the Galway Senior Championship in 1889 the club has not won the Frank Fox cup in almost four decades, last winning the championship in 1983. Cortoon Shamrocks (Irish: ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Cortoon Shamrocks are a Gaelic football club History Cortoon are one of the oldest clubs in the county, and are unique in that they are the second senior football team in the one parish in Galway. Cortoon is a half parish of Tuam and with Tuam Stars , Cortoon success has been hard come by. Corofin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Corofin, County Galway, Ireland. The club serves the two parishes of Cummer and Kilmoylan and Belclare. Claregalway GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Claregalway, County Galway, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Underage teams up to U-16's play in the Galway league and championships, while the Minor, Under-21 and Senior teams compete in all further levels. Castlegar GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Castlegar in County Galway, Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. Overview It is believed that hurling has been played in Castlegar since the 1880s. No records exist regarding hurling in the area prior to that decade, however, local folklore has it that the parish had a hurling team prior to 1880. Most of the matches played by Castlegar in those days were played in Claregalway, Turloughmore and Oranmore. At the time the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in 1884, Castlegar was considered to be the best team in the west of the city of Galway.
