St Mary The Virgin, Gillingham, Dorset
St Mary's Church is the parish church for the town of Gillingham in the Blackmore Vale in the north of Dorset. The church is in the Diocese of Salisbury in the Church of England, and part of the Anglican Communion. There is believed to have been a Christian presence in the area since Anglo-Saxon days, evidence being a stone with a complicated interlaced pattern, now in the church, which is believed to be the remains of a 9th-century cross – either a preaching cross or a grave marker. On the north wall of the chancel, only two feet above the floor, can be seen the archway of an Easter Sepulchre. Some bench ends, a screen at the east end of th ...

Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal, a notable example of Rural Gothic architecture located at Moore and 8th Streets in Blue Earth, Minnesota, is the oldest surviving church building in the community. As the congregation diminished in the 1970s regular worship services were eventually suspended; in 1981 its three remaining members donated the building to the Faribault County Historical Society. Since then the church has hosted seasonal ecumenical services, Christmas concerts, weddings, and funerals. It was added to the National Register in 1980. Establishment of the Parish Blue Earth was established in 1856 and, while most of its early settlers were Methodists, Episcopalians and Presbyterians also arrived from the east. The first Episcopal service in the city was held in the Presbyterian church on December 10, 1867. In 1870 Bishop Henry Whipple asked the Reverend Solomon Stephens Burleson (1833-1897), then the rector of All Saints in Northfield, to visit the city and consider ...

Church Of The Good Shepherd (Dedham, Massachusetts)
The Church of the Good Shepherd is an Episcopal church in Dedham, Massachusetts and the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. History The first group of Anglicans in Dedham began meeting in Clapboardtrees in 1731. A few decades later, Samuel Colburn died in the Crown Point Expedition of 1756. A mission Sunday school was begun by lay readers from St. Paul's in the Sanderson Building on June 8, 1873 for Anglicans in the Oakdale section of town who could not get to the church easily. Soon after, on the 29th of the same month, public services of the Episcopal Church were begun in Sanderson Hall and for three years they were conducted by lay readers. The mission was funded by the family of Horatio Chickering, a member of St. Paul' ...

Church Of The Good Shepherd (Maitland, Florida)
The Church of the Good Shepherd built in 1880 is an historic Episcopal church located at 331 Lake Avenue in Maitland, Orange County, Florida. Designed by renowned New York architect Charles C. Haight in the Carpenter Gothic style of architecture, it was built largely through the efforts of the Right Reverend Henry Benjamin Whipple, the first bishop of Minnesota, who began wintering in Maitland in the 1870s. Its board and batten exterior walls and lancet windows are typical of Carpenter Gothic architecture, but its belfry centered over the altar area is unusual. The church was consecrated on March 17, 1883, and Bishop Whipple conducted regular services there each winter for the rest of his life. In 1967, a new modern church designed by Nils M. Schweizer was built to complement the original structure, which since then has served as a chapel. On March 28, 2011, the 1880 church was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
