Chumped
Chumped was an American pop punk band based in Brooklyn, New York, United States. The band formed in 2012, and released two extended plays before releasing their sole LP, '' Teenage Retirement'', in 2014 on Anchorless Records. The band announced an "indefinite hiatus" in 2015 and performed their final show in February 2016. History Pyle, Johnson and Frelly moved to New York City from Monument, Colorado, where Pyle met New Jersey resident Doug McKeever while working at the Fort Greene farmers market. The band released their debutself-titled EPin October 2013 on Anchorless Records. Dan Ozzi wrote in ''Vice'' that it was "the best pop-punk debut you will hear all year," and Melissa Fossum dubbed it the best album of 2013 in her submission to the Pazz & Jop that year. Teenage Retirement
''Teenage Retirement'' is the only studio album by American rock band Chumped, released on November 18, 2014, through Anchorless Records. Background The album is titled after the band some members played in prior to Chumped's formation. The album's sound has been compared to that of Superchunk, Nirvana, and Slingshot Dakota. A music video for "December is the Longest Month" was released in December 2014. Anika Pyle discussed the album's title in an interview prior to its release: Critical reception Many critics gave ''Teenage Retirement'' favorable reviews, with Tom Breihan of Stereogum naming it "Album of the Week" on November 18. Monument, Colorado
The Town of Monument is a Home rule town situated at the base of the Rampart Range in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. Monument is one of the three communities that make up the Tri-Lakes area (along with Palmer Lake and Woodmoor). The town is part of the Colorado Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 700,000 in 2019. Riot Fest is an annual three-day punk rock music festival based in Chicago, Illinois, at Douglass Park. It is known for booking reunions, guest performances, and full album performances. Riot Fest remains one of the largest independently owned music festivals in the United States. The Ergs! are an American punk rock band formed in 2000 in South Amboy, New Jersey, by three high school friends: drummer/lead vocalist Mikey Erg (Mike Yannich), guitarist/vocalist Jeff Erg (Jeff Schroeck), and bassist Joey Erg (Joe Keller). Plow United is an American punk rock formed in Wilmington, Delaware in 1992. They play fast punk rock with pop, thrashcore and hardcore influences. Their lyrics are sometimes labeled "emo" postfact. Band members are Brian McGee (vocals and guitar), Sean Rule (drums) and Joel Tannenbaum (bass). Slingshot Dakota is an American rock band from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. History Slingshot Dakota formed in Long Island in 2003 as a three-piece, issuing their debut, ''Keener Sighs'', in 2004. Lemuria was an American rock band formed in 2004 and originally based in Buffalo, New York. After a series of singles and EPs, Lemuria released albums between 2007 and 2017, and toured both the U.S. and internationally.
