Chrysler World Engine
The World Gasoline Engine is a family of straight-4 piston engines, based on the Global Engine Alliance design. Three engines have been produced: a 1.8 L, a 2.0 L, and a 2.4 L. With 1.8 L variant being used on vehicles sold outside of the United States. The initial design of the engine block and cylinder head was handled by Hyundai as part of the Global Engine Alliance. The engines feature an aluminum engine block with siamesed cast iron cylinder liners (that is cylinder liners that don't allow coolant to flow between adjacent liners). By using cylinder liners the engine's bore can be altered, therefore the displacement as well, just by adding a different set of cylinder liners. Dodge Caliber
The Dodge Caliber is a compact hatchback manufactured and marketed by Chrysler's Dodge division from model years 2007 to 2012, replacing the Dodge Neon and Chrysler PT Cruiser. Following the Caliber concept which debuted at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, the pre-production version debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, with market launch in March 2006. The Caliber was manufactured at the Belvidere Assembly (Illinois) plant, and across its six-year model run, just over 400,000 were produced. Turbocharger
In an internal combustion engine, a turbocharger (often called a turbo) is a forced induction device that is powered by the flow of exhaust gases. It uses this energy to compress the intake gas, forcing more air into the engine in order to produce more power for a given displacement.
The current categorisation is that a turbocharger is powered by the kinetic energy of the exhaust gasses, whereas a supercharger is mechanically powered (usually by a belt from the engine's crankshaft). The Chrysler Sebring ( ) is a line of mid-size automobiles that was sold from 1995 through 2010 by Chrysler. Three generations of convertibles, two generations of sedans, and two generations of coupes were produced. Although the coupe shared the same name and some styling cues, it was mechanically unrelated to the other Sebring models. The Sebring line was introduced in 1995 with the Chrysler Sebring coupe. The inner surface of the cylinder is formed from either a thin metallic liner (also called "sleeve") or a surface coating applied to the engine block. Cast iron is a class of iron–carbon alloys with a carbon content more than 2%. Its usefulness derives from its relatively low melting temperature.
