Christopher Scott (cyclist)
Christopher Ian Scott, OAM (born 29 October 1968) is a former Australian Paralympic cyclist. He has won ten medals at six Games from 1988 to 2008. Personal Scott was born in Gympie, Queensland, with cerebral palsy, as the youngest of three children. and moved to Brisbane with his family when he was two years old. At the age of eight, a soccer coach refused to let him join his team because he could not kick the ball with his right foot as well as he could with his left, a rule not enforced on able-bodied players. He consequently joined the next age group's soccer team so he could play with his brother. Scott attended Salisbury State High School and it was here where he began to participate more in sport and became involved in the Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association. He works as a records clerk in the Brisbane suburb of Sunnybank. He has been married to Karen since March 2008 and has a stepdaughter. The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is the Australian Government commission responsible for supporting and investing in sport in Australia. The Commission incorporates the Australian Institute of Sport. From 2018 to 2022, it was known as Sport Australia. Although it is commonly believed that the Australian Government's initial involvement in sports was prompted by the country's poor performance at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games in which Australia failed to win a gold medal, the Government actually began initial investigations into its potential role in sports in 1973. Peter Homann
Peter David Homann, OAM (born 16 February 1960) is a former Australian Paralympic cyclist. He has won seven medals at three Games from 1996 to 2004. Personal Homann was born with cerebral palsy on 16 February 1960 in the Victorian town of Yallourn. When he was three, his father, a pharmacist, moved the family to the New Guinean town of Wewak, where he ran the local pharmacy. In a 2000 interview, Homann said of his childhood in the town: He moved to Melbourne to finish high school and university, and later lived in the United Kingdom for four years, where he took up cycling recreationally. He continued cycling when he moved back to Australia, and was interested in the 1992 Barcelona Paralympics. Sunnybank, Queensland
Sunnybank is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is known for its many Asian shops and restaurants. History The Jagera Indigenous people were the first to inhabit the area well over 20,000 years ago. Early settlers noticed that the Sunnybank district had good rainfall and a beautiful loamy soil, somewhat sandy in character, that produced beautiful displays of natural wild flowers.
