Christopher Johnston (Assyriologist)
Christopher Johnston (December 8, 1856 – June 26, 1914) was an American physician and Assyriologist, a scholar of ancient Mesopotamia. Personal life He was born on December 8, 1856, in Baltimore, the son of the physician Christopher Johnston (1822-1891), a professor of surgery at the University of Maryland and the discoverer of Johnston's organ, and Sarah Lucretia Clay (1835-1879). Johnston married Madeline T. Tilghman on June 2, 1897, and had a son, Benamin Johnston, and a daughter, Eliza Gates Johnston, who died young. Johnston died at his home in Baltimore on June 26, 1914. Studies and career Johnston studied at the University of Virginia, where he earned three degrees: a B. Litt. in 1876, a B.A. 1878, and an M.A. in 1879. Chris Clavin (born Christopher Johnston; August 23, 1973) is an American musician and record label owner from Indiana, United States, with a strict DIY (do-it-yourself) punk ethic. He has been involved in numerous punk bands and ran Plan-It-X Records, a label founded in 1994. Clavin has been a part of many (primarily pop punk and folk punk) bands, including bands that have toured the world and been influential in the DIY punk scene. Clavin was accused of sexual misconduct over social media in 2017. Bands Ghost Mice In 2002, Clavin formed the two-piece folk punk band Ghost Mice with Hannah Jones. Chris Johnston (born 3 September 1994) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Scottish League One club Stranraer Career A member of Kilmarnock's under-19 squad, Johnston was promoted to the first team on 14 January 2012, where he was an unused substitute in their match against Aberdeen. He went on to make his debut aged 17, on 24 March as a second-half substitute in a 2–0 win over Motherwell. On 23 May 2016, he was one of six players released at the end of their contract. On 6 June 2016, it was announced that Johnston had signed for Raith Rovers on a one-year deal. Sir Christopher Nicholson Johnston, Lord Sands Royal Society of Edinburgh, FRSE (18 October 1857 – 26 February 1934) was a Unionist Party (Scotland) MP for Edinburgh and St Andrews Universities (UK Parliament constituency), Edinburgh and St Andrews universities between two by-elections in 1916 and 1917. He was an expert on Church Law and represented the Church of Scotland on many occasions. Life He was born on 18 October 1857 in Kincardine-on-Forth, Kincardine, the son of Margaret Nicholson, daughter of Reverend Nicholson of Whithorn, and James Johnston of Mansionhouse of Sands (in Fife).
