Christopher Anderson (theologian)
Christopher Anderson (19 February 1782 – 18 February 1852) was a Scottish theological writer and preacher. Biography He was born at Edinburgh, 19 February 1782, the son of William Anderson, a merchant. He began life in an insurance office, but gave up his secular work and studied for the ministry, with the aim of becoming a missionary: his background was formed by followers of Robert and James Haldane. Weak health prevented his accepting a missionary appointment, and he then became minister of a small congregation in Edinburgh, known as "English Baptists", at the Charlotte Chapel. He held this post until shortly before his death. Anderson was interested in the Scottish Highlands, and was a founder of the Gaelic School Society. He established the independent Edinburgh Bible Society. He supported the Serampore mission in India, travelled to explain its objects, and collected funds on its behalf. Chris and Thomas are an American folk duo Christopher Anderson and Thomas Hien. They are signed with Defend Music. History Christopher Anderson and Thomas Hien became close friends during their years at the historic art school in Liverpool where John Lennon and Paul McCartney had met decades before. They played the Irish pubs and they sang for the Queen while they earned music degrees in film composition. In the late 1990s, the two had created "Cook Au Van," a travelling cooking show. The vehicle for the show was an old gas board utility van that they had converted into a five star restaurant. Christopher Anderson (footballer, Born 1925)
Christopher Anderson (30 August 1925 – 27 May 1986) was a Scottish footballer, educator and football administrator. He is best remembered for his time as Vice-Chairman of Aberdeen F.C., where he was regarded as one of the game's most forward-thinking and innovative characters. He was inducted into the Aberdeen FC "Hall of Fame" as one of the founding members in 2003. Playing and coaching career Anderson was born and grew up in Aberdeen, and showed promise as a player from an early age. He was capped by Scotland Schoolboys and joined the Junior team Mugiemoss as a teenager. Bill Struth, manager of Rangers, expressed an interest in the young Anderson, but instead he signed for his local team in 1943. Wartime delayed his senior debut until 1948, and his time as a player at Pittodrie coincided with a lean period in the club's fortunes. Christopher Anderson (born 1970) is an American photographer. He is a member of Magnum Photos. Early life Anderson was born in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up in the west Texas town of Abilene. Career Christopher Anderson first gained recognition for his pictures in 1999 when he boarded a small wooden boat with Haitian refugees trying to sail to America. The boat, named the "Believe in God", sank in the Caribbean. In 2000 the images from that journey received the Robert Capa Gold Medal. Anderson's early work from conflict zones such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel/ Palestine earned international acclaim and awards such as two World Press Photo Awards and Magazine Photographer of the Year. In 2004, Anderson began traveling to Venezuela to document the country under the presidency of Hugo Chávez. Chris Andersen
Christopher Claus Andersen (born July 7, 1978) is an American former professional basketball player. Nicknamed "Birdman", Andersen was born in Long Beach, California, grew up in Iola, Texas, and played one year at Blinn College. Andersen began his professional career in the Chinese Basketball Association and the American minor leagues. He then played in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Hornets. He received a two-year ban from the NBA in 2006 for violating the league's drug policy, but was reinstated on March 4, 2008, and re-signed with the Hornets the next day. He returned to Denver later in 2008, and remained with the team until 2012. He signed with the Miami Heat in January 2013 and won a championship with them that same year.
