Christophe Mboso N'Kodia Pwanga is a Congolese politician who is the current President of the National Assembly. Career Born in 1942, he graduated in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in political and administrative sciences from the University of Lubumbashi. In February 2021, he was elected as the President of the National Assembly following an election in which he received 389 votes out of 460. He succeeds Jeannine Mabunda who was dismissed on 10 December 2020. University Of Lubumbashi
The University of Lubumbashi (), also known by the acronym UNILU, is one of the largest universities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is located in Lubumbashi in Haut Katanga Province, previously Katanga Province. The campus is located in the northern part of the city, west of the airport. History The university was created in 1955 under Belgian colonial rule as the Official University of the Congo and Ruanda-Urundi (french: Université officielle du Congo et du Ruanda-Urundi) by the University of Liège and opened in 1956. It was one of the institutions merged into the National University of Zaire in 1971. It was re-established as an autonomous university in 1981 when the National University of Zaire was split up. Jeanine Mabunda (born 10 April 1964) is a Congolese lawyer and politician who in 2019 became the first woman elected to lead the Democratic Republic of the Congo's National Assembly. She was impeached on December 10, 2020, through a democratic vote by the National Assembly with 281 votes. Early life and education Jeanine Mabunda Lioko Mudiayi was born on 10 April 1964 in Kinshasa and is from Équateur. She graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium with a degree in law and from the ICHEC Brussels Management School in economics. Career Mabunda was an executive of the Central Bank of Congo and was Director General of the Industry Promotion Fund for five years. Gabriel Kyungu wa Kumwanza (24 October 1938 – 21 August 2021) was a Congolese politician. Career A member of UNAFEC, he served as President of the Provincial Assembly of Haut-Katanga from 20 February to 21 August 2021, President of the Council of Administration of the ''Société nationale des chemins de fer du Congo'' from 2019 to 2021, and twice served as Governor of Shaba/Katanga, from 1991 to 1995 and again in 1997.
