Christmas Wrapping
"Christmas Wrapping" is a Christmas song by the American new wave band the Waitresses. First released on ZE Records' 1981 compilation album '' A Christmas Record,'' it later appeared on the band's 1982 EP '' I Could Rule the World If I Could Only Get the Parts'' and numerous other holiday compilation albums. It was written and produced by Chris Butler, with vocals by Patty Donahue. The song received positive reviews; AllMusic described it as "one of the best holiday pop tunes ever recorded". Writing In 1981, ZE Records asked each of its artists to record a Christmas song for a compilation album, '' A Christmas Record''. The Waitresses were in the middle of a difficult tour and the Christmas song commission was "the last thing we wanted", Butler said later. The Waitresses were an American new wave band from Akron, Ohio, best known for their singles " I Know What Boys Like" and "Christmas Wrapping." They released two albums, ''Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful?'' and ''Bruiseology'', and two EPs, '' I Could Rule the World If I Could Only Get the Parts'' and ''Make the Weather''. Electric Lady Studios
Electric Lady Studios is a recording studio in Greenwich Village, New York City. It was commissioned by rock musician Jimi Hendrix in 1968 and designed by architect John Storyk and audio engineer Eddie Kramer by 1970. Hendrix spent only ten weeks recording in Electric Lady before his death that year, but it quickly became a famed studio used by many top-selling recording artists from the 1970s onwards, including Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, and David Bowie. At the turn of the 21st century, Electric Lady served as a home for the innovative Soulquarians collective, but fell into financial hardship and disarray in the 2000s. Chic ( ), currently called Nile Rodgers & Chic, is an American band that was formed in 1972 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards. Good Times (Chic Song)
"Good Times" is a song by American R&B band Chic from their third album '' Risqué'' (1979). It ranks 68th on ''Rolling Stone''s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and has become one of the most sampled tunes in music history, most notably in hip hop music. Originally released with "A Warm Summer Night" on the B-side, it was reissued in 2004 with " I Want Your Love" on the B-side, a version which was certified Silver in the UK. Lyrics and inspiration The lyrics include a reference to Milton Ager's "Happy Days Are Here Again". It also contains lines based on lyrics featured in "About a Quarter to Nine" made famous by Al Jolson.
