Christina Billotte
Christina Billotte is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, known for her involvement in the punk music scene in Washington DC, as a performer and organizer. She is included in Venus Zine's list ''The Greatest Female Guitarists of All Time''. Musical career Billotte and Melissa Berkoff initially began playing together in a Washington, DC band called Hazmat in 1989, but then joined up with Nikki Chapman and Mary Timony to form Autoclave in 1991. Autoclave became known for their math rock styling and released a single on the Diskord label - a joint effort between Dischord and K Records - before splitting up in 1991. In early 1991, Billotte and Washington, DC artist Jen Smith joined Pacific Northwest band Bratmobile (Allison Wolfe and Molly Neuman) when they temporarily relocated to Washington, DC. Erin Smith (musician)
Erin Smith (born August 16, 1972) in Washington, D.C., is best known for being the guitarist of riot grrrl band Bratmobile, a band with drummer Molly Neuman and vocalist Allison Wolfe. History Smith started her zine ''Teenage Gang Debs'' in 1987 with her brother Don. In 1991, she started interning at '' Sassy'' magazine, where she wrote articles about independent music and exposed girls to DIY culture. Also in 1991, Smith started playing guitar in Bratmobile with Molly Neuman on drums and Allison Wolfe on vocals. The band was active until 1994, when they went on hiatus. During this hiatus, Smith and Wolfe started a new band Cold Cold Hearts. Bratmobile reformed in 1999, but split again in 2003 after two more albums. White Magic is a psychedelic folk rock group formed in Brooklyn and led by singer/guitarist/pianist/composer Mira Billotte. Billotte performs under this moniker both with accompaniment or solo, using a daf, shruti box, and singing a cappella. Invoking both traditional and experimental folk, White Magic's sound ranges from loud psychedelia to meditative trance. Kill Rock Stars is an independent record label founded in 1991 by Slim Moon and Tinuviel Sampson, and based in both Olympia, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. Krallice is an American black metal band formed by New York City musicians Colin Marston, Mick Barr, Nick McMaster and Lev Weinstein. They play an experimental, highly technical style of black metal. The band has released twelve studio albums and three EPs, most recently the LP ''Psychagogue'' on June 17, 2022. Quix*o*tic was a rock band active from 1997 to 2002 in the area of Washington, D.C., United States. They were known for their blend of R&B and doo wop with a Gothic outlook. History Quix*o*tic formed in 1997. The original line-up was guitarist/vocalist Christina Billotte, drummer/vocalist Mira Billotte, and bassist/vocalist Brendan Majewski. Majewski left in 2001 and was replaced by Mick Barr. The band broke up in 2003 with Mira moving to NYC to form White Magic.
