Christian Meier (cyclist)
Christian Meier (born February 21, 1985) is a Canadian former racing cyclist who rode professionally between 2005 and 2016 for the , and and teams. Born in Sussex, New Brunswick, Meier is descended from German restaurateurs who settled outside Sussex, Canada and he attended Sussex Regional High School. His brother Michael succumbed to cancer in 2010. He raced for in 2012, competing in the Giro d'Italia in May, with his best showing on Day 11 in 15th place. He rode all three Grand Tours in his career, making a total of five Grand Tour starts, his last being the 2014 Tour de France. He announced his retirement from competition in September 2016, despite having a year to run on his contract with the Orica team. After retiring, he contested the 2018 Canadian National Time Trial Championships, finishing 27th. The 2014 Bayern–Rundfahrt was the 35th edition of the Bayern–Rundfahrt, an annual cycling road race. It was held between 28 May and 1 June, consisting of five stages, the fourth being an individual time trial. The stage race was part of the 2014 UCI Europe Tour, and was rated as a 2.HC event. The race was won for the second time – having won the race in 2011 – by Geraint Thomas of , who claimed the leader's jersey by winning the time trial stage. 2013 Volta A Catalunya
The 2013 Volta a Catalunya was the 93rd running of the Volta a Catalunya cycling stage race. It started on 18 March in Calella, ended on 24 March in Barcelona, and consisted of seven stages. It was the fifth race of the 2013 UCI World Tour season. The race was won by the Republic of Ireland's Dan Martin of the team, who took the lead after winning the race's queen stage – the fourth stage – to Port Ainé– Rialp, and maintained the overall lead of the race until the end. The 2010 Tour of the Basque Country, was the 50th edition of the Tour of the Basque Country cycling stage race. It started on 5 April and ended on 10 April. Chris Horner won the race 7 seconds ahead of Alejandro Valverde after winning the sixth and final stage which was an individual time trial 8 seconds ahead of Valverde. Valverde's results were subsequently removed after a retroactive suspension was applied.
