Christian Ide Hintze
Christian Ide Hintze (December 26, 1953, Vienna - February 2012) was an Austrian poet and performance artist, who focused on the transition from literary to cross-media forms. Biography Between 1972 and 1974 Christian Ide Hintze worked as a Super-8 filmmaker and street singer in Scandinavia, England, France and Spain, between 1974 and 1978 – in addition to studying theater and communications at the University of Vienna – as a distributor of megaphone, poster and leaflet texts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Holland. His actions resulted in numerous charges of "obstructing pedestrian traffic" and "contamination of public buildings". In 1976 he was arrested and interrogated by the police in East Berlin. In 1978 he was expelled from the book fair in Stuttgart and convicted of criminal damage in Vienna (for pasting banners, posters and poems onto the Burgtheater). Jack Kerouac School Of Disembodied Poetics
The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics is a school of Naropa University, located in Boulder, Colorado, United States. It was founded in 1974 by Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman, as part of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s 100-year experiment. Its programs consist of a BA in creative writing and literature, a residential MFA in creative writing and poetics, an MFA in creative writing, the undergraduate Core Writing Seminars and the Summer Writing Program. The Kerouac School states that among its aims is to bring forward "new questions that both invigorate and challenge the current dialogue in writing today". Mircea Dinescu (; born November 11, 1950) is a Romanian poet, journalist, and editor. Biography Early life and poetry He was born in Slobozia, the son of Ştefan Dinescu, a metalworker, and Aurelia (born Badea). Dinescu studied at the Faculty of Journalism of the Ștefan Gheorghiu Academy, and was considered a gifted young poet during his youth, with several poetry volumes published. Dissidency In August 1988, Dinescu was invited by the USSR Union of Writers in the Soviet Union and on August 25, he gave an interview to the Romanian section of the Voice of Russia. Inger Christensen (16 January 1935 – 2 January 2009) was a Danish poet, novelist, essayist and editor. She is considered the foremost Danish poetic experimentalist of her generation. Ayu Utami (born 21 November 1968) is an Indonesian writer who has written novels, short-stories, and articles. '' Saman'' (1998) is widely considered her masterpiece. Edward Sanders (born August 17, 1939) is an American poet, singer, activist, author, publisher and longtime member of the rock band the Fugs. He has been called a bridge between the Beat and hippie generations. Sanders is considered to have been active and "present at the counterculture's creation." Biography Sanders was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He dropped out of the University of Missouri in 1958 and hitchhiked to New York City's Greenwich Village to attend New York University. Wolfgang Bauer (18 March 1941 – 26 August 2005) was an Austrian writer best known as a playwright who, particularly in his younger days, was regarded as an ''enfant terrible'' by the Austrian cultural establishment. Life and career Bauer was born in Graz, Styria. His breakthrough play was '' Magic Afternoon'' in 1967, in which he portrays four youths who interrupt their lazy and boring afternoon by unmotivated outbreaks of violence and aggression (''Magic Afternoon'' was adapted for the screen most recently by Catherine Jelski in 2000 as '' The Young Unknowns''). Blixa Bargeld
Blixa Bargeld (born Christian Emmerich, 12 January 1959) is a German musician who has been the lead singer of the band Einstürzende Neubauten since its formation in 1980. Bargeld was also a founding member of the Australian rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, serving as a member from 1983 until his departure in 2003. Early life Bargeld left school prior to completion, and is self-taught. He experimented with audio equipment as a teenager, including the disassembling of tape recorders. Since the 1960s, Waldman has been an active member of the Outrider experimental poetry community as a writer, performer, collaborator, professor, editor, scholar, and cultural/political activist. She has also been connected to the Beat poets.
