Christian Fiedler
Christian Fiedler (born 27 March 1975 in Berlin) is a German football coach and former football goalkeeper who spent his entire playing career with Hertha BSC. He is currently the goalkeeper coach of Greuther Fürth. Football career Fiedler led Hertha BSC's amateurs to the 1993 Cup final, losing to a lone Ulf Kirsten strike, 15 minutes from time. He started his professional career in the second division, helping the side promote in 1996–97. For most of his topflight career, however, he was only second-choice to Hertha, successively to Gábor Király and Jaroslav Drobný; his best years came in 2004–07, before the Czech's arrival. On 2 August 2008, in a test match against Newcastle United, Fiedler sustained a serious injury, which ultimately forced him to retire at the end of the 2008–09 season. West Berlin (german: Berlin (West) or , ) was a political enclave which comprised the western part of Berlin during the years of the Cold War. Jaroslav Drobný (footballer)
Jaroslav Drobný (; born 18 October 1979) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper and who works as goalkeeping coach for Bayern Munich II. At international level, he has represented the Czech Republic. Drobný has previously played for Panionios, ADO Den Haag, VfL Bochum, Ipswich Town, Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Werder Bremen, and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Club career Drobný's first club was local club SK Chrudim. In his first season, he signed a contract with Chrudium's rivals FC Vítkovice. He joined First Division club S.K. České Budějovice in 1999 where he spent his first two professional seasons. In 2001, he was transferred to Panionios in the Alpha Ethniki, the first tier in Greece. 2001 DFB-Ligapokal Final
The 2001 DFB-Ligapokal Final decided the winner of the 2001 DFB-Ligapokal, the 5th edition of the reiterated DFB-Ligapokal, a knockout football cup competition. The match was played on 21 July 2001 at the Carl-Benz-Stadion in Mannheim. Hertha BSC won the match 4–1 against Schalke 04 for their 1st title. Teams Route to the final The DFB-Ligapokal is a six team single-elimination knockout cup competition. There are a total of two rounds leading up to the final. Four teams enter the preliminary round, with the two winners advancing to the semi-finals, where they will be joined by two additional clubs who were given a bye. For all matches, the winner after 90 minutes advances. If still tied, extra time, and if necessary penalties are used to determine the winner. The DFL-Ligapokal (, officially Premiere Ligapokal , previously DFB-Ligapokal ) or the ''German League Cup'' was a German football competition that took place before the start of the Bundesliga season, featuring the top five teams of the previous Bundesliga season and the winners of the DFB-Pokal in Germany. The cup was known as the Premiere-Ligapokal after 2005, when Premiere, a German pay television network, took up sponsorship of the competition. The Ligapokal was not held in 2008 due to schedule crowding caused by the UEFA Euro 2008. Instead, the German Supercup was held on 23 July. The Ligapokal was not held in 2009 either, due to the German Football Association's decision to abolish it. The 2008–09 season of Hertha BSC began on 17 July 2008 with a UEFA Cup first round qualifying march against Nistru Otaci from Moldova and ended on 23 May 2009, the last matchday of the Bundesliga, with a match against Karlsruher SC.
