The Christian Democratic Union of Armenia (CDU) ( hy, Հայաստանի Քրիստոնեա-դեմոկրատական միություն, translit=Hayastani K’ristonea-demokratakan ​​miut’yun (HKDM)) is a political party in Armenia. History The party was founded in 1991. It is led by Khosrov Harutyunyan, former Prime Minister of Armenia (1992–1993). The party is a member of the European Christian Political Movement. The party participated in the 1995 Armenian parliamentary elections as part of the "Republican Bloc" alliance. The CDU won one seat in the National Assembly. The party participated in the 2003 Armenian parliamentary election, winning just 0.67% of the vote and failing to gain any seats in the National Assembly. Christian Democratic Union (Belize)
The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) was a general union in Belize. The union was established in 1956 by Nicholas Pollard, as a split from the General Workers' Union. Pollard had been accused of misusing funds donated by the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, intended to support victims of Hurricane Janet. The new union worked closely with the People's United Party (PUP), as the GWU had previously done. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany (german: Christlich-Demokratische Union Deutschlands, CDU) was an East German political party founded in 1945. It was part of the National Front with the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) and a bloc party until 1989. It contested the free elections in 1990 as an arm of the West German Christian Democratic Union, into which it merged after German reunification later that same year. The Christian Democratic Union ( lv, Kristīgi demokrātiskā savienība, KDS) is a minor Christian-democratic political party in Latvia. It is currently led by Māra Viktorija Zilgalve and Secretary General Armands Agrums. History The KDS was founded in 1991. The party participated in the 1993 Saeima election and obtained 5.0% of the vote and six seats. In the next parliamentary election in 1995 the party contested in alliance with the Latvian Farmers' Union and won 6.3% of the vote and eight seats. The Christian-Democratic Union (in Dutch: ''Christelijk-Democratische Unie'') was a minor progressive Protestant party in the Netherlands during the interbellum. History The CDU was formed in 1926 as a merger of three even smaller Christian left-wing parties, the Christian Social Party, the Christian Democratic Party and the League of Christian Socialists.
