Christian Dalmau
Christian Dalmau (born August 29, 1975) is a Puerto Rican retired professional basketball player, and current head coach of the Indios de Mayagüez in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He is the second son of the legendary Puerto Rican basketball star Raymond Dalmau. Dalmau has played in the NCAA, the National Basketball Development League, and the Baloncesto Superior Nacional in Puerto Rico. Dalmau has played internationally in Turkey, Poland, and Israel. Dalmau was a member of the Puerto Rican National Basketball Team that defeated the United States in the 2004 Olympic Games. Biography After playing college basketball in the NCAA, Dalmau began his professional career in 1993 with the Piratas de Quebradillas in Puerto Rico's top level Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). The List of BSN champions are the champions of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) Championship Finals, which is the championship series for the BSN and the conclusion of the professional basketball's league tournament in Puerto Rico. Most Finals have been played in a Playoff format#Best-of-seven playoff, best-of-seven format. The winning team of the series receives the championship trophy. The Vaqueros de Bayamon lead the league for most championships won at 16. They are followed by two teams that have 14 titles; those teams are the Atléticos de San Germán and Leones de Ponce (basketball), Leones de Ponce. Central American And Caribbean Games
The Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC or CACGs) are a multi-sport regional championship event, held quadrennial (once every four years), typically in the middle (even) year between Summer Olympics. The games are for countries in Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and the South American Caribbean countries of Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. The 2006 Men's Central American and Caribbean Basketball Championship, also known as 2006 Centrobasket, was hosted in Panama City, Panama. The ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama City served as the venue for all the games. The Centrobasket is a FIBA-sponsored international basketball tournament where national teams from Central America and the Caribbean participate. These countries make up the Central American and Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CONCENCABA). The top three or four Women's National teams typically earn berths to the FIBA Women's AmeriCup, from which they can qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup or Summer Olympics. FIBA Americas Championship 2009
The 2009 FIBA Americas Championship, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the continental championship held by FIBA Americas, for North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. This FIBA AmeriCup championship served as a qualifying tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. Each of the top four finishers in the quarterfinal round robin qualified for the World Championship. Brazil won the gold medal, after beating host Puerto Rico, 61–60, in the title game. This was Brazil's fourth FIBA AmeriCup title, and second in the last three tournaments. At the time FIBA world number 1 ranked Argentina claimed the bronze medal, over fourth placed Canada. By making the quarterfinals, all four teams qualified for the 2010 FIBA World Championship. FIBA AmeriCup
The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organised the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament. Through the 2015 edition, the Americas Championship took place every two years, and was also a qualifying tournament for the FIBA World Cup and the Summer Olympic Games.
