Christian Cooper
Christian Cooper (born 1963) is an American science writer and editor, and also a comics writer and editor. He is based in New York City. Career Cooper is currently a senior biomedical editor at Health Science Communications. On May 16, 2022, National Geographic announced Cooper would host a show on their American TV channel called ''Extraordinary Birder'', following showing species of bird around the world. A release date for the series remains to be determined. Comics Cooper was Marvel's first openly gay writer and editor. He introduced the first gay male character in ''Star Trek'', Yoshi Mishima, in the ''Starfleet Academy'' series, which was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award in 1999. He also introduced the first openly lesbian character for Marvel, Victoria Montesi and created and authored ''Queer Nation: The Online Gay Comic''. LGBT Activism
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) movements are social movements that advocate for LGBT people in society. Some focus on equal rights, such as the ongoing movement for same-sex marriage, while others focus on liberation, as in the gay liberation movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Earlier movements focused on self-help and self-acceptance, such as the homophile movement of the 1950s. Chris Renaud (born December 1966) is an American film producer, director, illustrator, designer, animator, and voice actor. He was nominated for an Academy Award for the 2006 animated short ''No Time for Nuts'', which featured the character Scrat from the computer-animated ''Ice Age'' films. His most popular work is the ''Despicable Me'' franchise, including ''Despicable Me'' and ''Despicable Me 2'', which he co-directed with Pierre Coffin. Along with Coffin, he also co-created and lent his voice to the Minions from ''Despicable Me''. Life and career Chris Renaud was born in 1966 in Baltimore. ''Excalibur'' is the name of several comic book titles featuring the team Excalibur and published by Marvel Comics, beginning with the original ''Excalibur'' comic book series which debuted in 1988. Publication history ''Excalibur'' (vol. 1, 1988–1998) ''Excalibur'''s original creative team, writer Chris Claremont and artist/co-writer Alan Davis, incorporated elements of two Marvel properties: the X-Men and Captain Britain. Richard Case
Richard Case (born 1964) is an American comics artist best known for his work for DC Comics especially the Vertigo imprint. He is not to be confused with the similarly-named Richard Case, a comics artist who worked for the Iger Studio and Fiction House in the 1940s. Career After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, Richard Case worked as an assistant to comics artist Walt Simonson in 1985. Case's first credited published comic book story appeared in Marvel Comics' ''Strange Tales'' vol. 2 #10 (Jan. 1988). He moved to DC Comics and pencilled the majority of issues of Grant Morrison's run on ''Doom Patrol'' beginning with issue #19 (Feb. 1989). Fred Harper
Frederick Harper (24 November 1863 – 19 January 1937) was a New Zealand cricketer. He played fourteen first-class matches for Otago between 1886 and 1895. Harper was a stylish batsman and brilliant fieldsman who captained Otago in most of his matches. He made 53, the highest score of the match, and the highest score of the short New Zealand first-class season, in 1887-88 when Otago beat Canterbury. After visiting England for the purposes of finding a suitable coach for the Otago Cricket Association, Harper secured the services of Joseph Lawton, who became the first professional cricket coach in New Zealand. Jimmy Palmiotti
James Palmiotti (born August 14, 1961) is an American writer and inker of comic books, who also does writing for games, television and film. Early life Palmiotti attended the High School of Art and Design in New York City. Career Palmiotti started at Marvel Comics in 1991. He inked titles such as the ''Punisher'', ''Ghost Rider'', '' The Nam'' and the Marvel 2099 line, and has accumulated extensive inking and writing credits. He often inked the work of his friend and collaborator Joe Quesada. Together, they created ''Ash'' and ''Painkiller Jane''. The Werewolf by Night (usually referred to by other characters simply as the Werewolf) is the name applied to two fictional characters who are werewolves appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes.
