Christiaan Kuyvenhoven
Christiaan Kuyvenhoven (born 1985) is a Dutch pianist. In April 2005 Kuyvenhoven won Third Prize at the prestigious International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, which took place in Utrecht for the seventh time. By winning the prize, Kuyvenhoven became the first Dutch pianist in sixteen years to win a prize at the competition. As part of the prize, Christiaan Kuyvenhoven had numerous appearances as a concert pianist, both in and outside the Netherlands. In addition to concert engagements at all major Dutch concert halls, he was also invited to appear in Algeria, Germany, France, Trinidad & Tobago, Curaçao, Tunisia and the United States. In January 2006, Kuyvenhoven went on tour with the National Students' Orchestra of the Netherlands under the baton of Otto Tausk. International Franz Liszt Piano Competition
The International Franz Liszt Piano Competition ("Liszt Competition") is an international piano competition. It is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions. The Competition is held in Utrecht (city), Utrecht in the Netherlands. It first took place in 1986, one hundred years after the death of Franz Liszt. Each time the Liszt Competition has been held it has seen over two hundred selected participants. The Royal Concertgebouw ( nl, Koninklijk Concertgebouw, ) is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Dutch term "concertgebouw" translates into English as "concert building". Matangi ( sa, मातङ्गी, ) is a Hindu goddess. She is one of the Mahavidyas, ten Tantric goddesses and an aspect of the Hindu Divine Mother. She is considered to be the Tantric form of Saraswati, the goddess of music and learning. Matangi governs speech, music, knowledge and the arts. Her worship is prescribed to acquire supernatural powers, especially gaining control over enemies, attracting people to oneself, acquiring mastery over the arts and gaining supreme knowledge. Het Residentie Orkest (literal translation, ''The Residence Orchestra''; known also in English as ''Residentie Orkest The Hague'') is a Dutch orchestra based in The Hague. The orchestra is currently resident at the Amare performing arts centre in The Hague. History Henri Viotta founded the orchestra in 1904. Its early home was the ''Gebouw voor Kunsten en Wetenschappen'' (K & W). The orchestra received its first acclaim during the 1911 Richard Strauss Festival, in which the composer himself conducted some of his works. JEROME ROSE is one of America's most distinguished pianists, has been heard in major concert halls across five continents. A Gold Medalist from the International Busoni Competition. Mitsuko Uchida
is a classical pianist and conductor, born in Japan and naturalised in Britain, particularly noted for her interpretations of Mozart and Schubert. Leslie John Howard (born 29 April 1948) is an Australian pianist, musicologist and composer. He is best known for being the only pianist to have recorded the complete solo piano works of Franz Liszt, a project which included more than 300 premiere recordings.
