Chris Woods
Christopher Charles Eric Woods (born 14 November 1959) is an English football coach and former professional footballer, who is goalkeeping coach for the Scotland national team. As a player, he was a goalkeeper who played in the Football League and Premier League for Nottingham Forest, Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City, Sheffield Wednesday, Reading, Southampton and Burnley. He also played in the Scottish Football League for Rangers and in Major League Soccer for the Colorado Rapids. He was an England international and was largely Peter Shilton's long-time understudy in the England team in the mid to late 1980s, finally claiming the number one shirt for himself after the 1990 World Cup. In all, he managed to accrue 43 caps in an eight-year international career. Woods has been goalkeeper coach for Everton, the United States and Manchester United. Chris Woods is an American football coach. He is the linebackers coach for Temple Owls football program. Prior to that was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Renegades of the newly-formed XFL. Wood served as the head football coach at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2003 and Stonehill College from 2004 to 2006. Christopher Wyatt Woods (born July 19, 1962) is a former American football wide receiver who played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Los Angeles Raiders and Denver Broncos. He was drafted by the Raiders in with the 28th overall pick in the 1984 NFL supplemental draft of USFL and CFL players. He played college football at Auburn University and attended A. H. Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Woods was also a member of the Edmonton Eskimos and Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Chris Woods, born in Sussex, is a British fingerstyle guitarist whose playing features extended techniques. Woods is also a composer, educator and author of ''Percussive Acoustic Guitar''. Recording as ‘The Chris Woods Groove Orchestra’ and ‘Chris Woods Groove’. Playing style Woods’ playing is characterised by the use of contemporary and extended guitar techniques, including; alternative tunings, tapping and guitar percussion. His technique was developed whilst experimenting at university with solo Jazz guitar playing as well as taking influence from artists such as John Martyn. Releasing music at the time of the ‘youtube percussive acoustic guitar boom’ he featured in the documentary ‘Acoustic Uprising’ which explored the percussive guitar boom phenomenon. Woods uses a stomp box, to create an accompanying beat to his music. Chris Woods (December 25, 1925, Memphis, Tennessee – July 4, 1985, New York City) was an American jazz alto saxophonist. Woods played locally in Memphis early in his career before moving to St. Louis to play with the Jeter-Pillars Orchestra and trumpeter George Hudson. He then joined Tommy Dean's combo, recording with them for Town and Country, Miracle, and States. Striking out on his own, he first recorded as a leader in 1953 for United Records. In 1962 he moved to New York, where he played with Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, Sy Oliver, and Ted Curson. He continued working with Terry into the 1970s, playing flute at times in his Big Bad Band. Jim McNeely played as a sideman on his 1978 release for Delmark Records. In 1983 he began playing in the Count Basie Orchestra, where he worked until his death in 1985.
