Chris Washington (comedian)
Chris Washington (born 18 March 1989) is an English stand-up comedian. Early life Washington is a native of Golborne. He attended St Aelred's Roman Catholic High School in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside. Washington worked as a postman for eleven years before becoming a comedian, confessing that he had used all his annual leave in one go to travel to the Edinburgh Fringe in August. Career Washington was nominated for best newcomer in the 2017 lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Awards for his show ''Dream Big (Within Reason)''. He has made TV appearances on ''Live from the BBC'', ''Mock the Week'' and, in October 2021, ''Richard Osman's House of Games''. Stand-up comedy is a comedy, comedic performance to a live audience in which the performer addresses the audience directly from the stage. The performer is known as a comedian, a comic or a stand-up. Golborne
Golborne (pronounced or ) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies south-southeast of Wigan, northeast of Warrington and to the west of the city of Manchester. Combined with the village of Lowton, it has a population of 24,041. Edinburgh Comedy Award
The Dave's Edinburgh Comedy Awards (formerly the Perrier Comedy Awards, and also briefly known by other names for sponsorship reasons) are presented to the comedy shows deemed to have been the best at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. Established in 1981, they are the most prestigious comedy prize in the United Kingdom. The awards have been directed and produced by Nica Burns since 1984. ''Mock the Week'' is a British topical satirical celebrity panel show, created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson. It was produced by Angst Productions for BBC Two, and was broadcast from 5 June 2005 to 4 November 2022. The programme was presented by Dara Ó Briain and featured regular appearances by comedian Hugh Dennis, as well as guest appearances by a variety of stand-up comedians, some of whom had regular appearances in several series. ''Richard Osman's House of Games'' is a British quiz show produced by Banijay (owners of Endemol Shine UK), a branch of Remarkable Television for the BBC. The show is hosted by Richard Osman. It is played on a weekly basis, with four "celebrities" playing on five consecutive days to win daily prizes, and the weekly prize of being crowned as "House of Games" champion. Points are accrued depending on where each celebrity finishes on each day and the points are doubled on Friday's show.
