Career Among the Minor League Baseball teams that he played for was the Knoxville Smokies (now the Tennessee Smokies). A third baseman, abbreviated 3B, is the player in baseball or softball whose responsibility is to defend the area nearest to third base — the third of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. Joseph Andrew Stynes (15 January 1903 – 29 January 1991)Jim Stynes 1995, p.18 was an Irish Republicanism, Irish Republican and a sportsman, excelling in particular at Gaelic football and soccer. In Dublin Stynes was born in Newbridge, County Kildare, and attended Newbridge College, where he first played Gaelic football and hurling. He moved to Dublin after World War I to find work. Yermín Francisco Mercedes (born February 14, 1993), nicknamed "The Yermín-ator", is a Dominican professional baseball first baseman, catcher, and designated hitter who is a free agent.
