Christopher Stone (born Thomas Edward Bourassa; October 4, 1940 – October 20, 1995) was an American actor. Early life Stone was born Thomas Edward Bourassa in Manchester, New Hampshire. Career He appeared in films and on television from the early 1970s until his death in 1995. Stone and his wife, Dee Wallace, both appeared together in a number of films including the classic horror films ''The Howling'' (1981) and ''Cujo'' (1983). They shared top billing in the family series ''The New Lassie'' (1989), in which he sometimes served as director. In the 1970-71 season, Stone co-starred with Broderick Crawford, Mike Farrell, and Skip Homeier in the CBS medical drama '' The Interns'', based on a film of the same title. Stone played Dr. Jim "Pooch" Hardin; Crawford was cast as the crusty hospital administrator; Farrell was Dr. Sam Marsh, and Homeier portrayed Dr. Hugh Jacoby. Major Christopher Reynolds Stone, D.S.O., M.C. (19 September 1882 – 22 May 1965) was the first disc jockey in the United Kingdom. He was the youngest son of Eton College's assistant master and Stonehouse preparatory school's founder Edward Daniel Stone. Christopher Stone was educated at Eton and served in the Royal Fusiliers. In 1906 Stone published a book of sea songs and ballads and in 1923 he wrote the history of his old regiment. He became the London editor of ''The Gramophone'', a magazine started by his brother-in-law Compton Mackenzie. Stone approached the BBC himself with the idea for a record programme, which the corporation initially dismissed. Stone managed to convince them though and on 7 July 1927 he started playing records on air. His relaxed, conversational style was exceptional at a time when most of the BBC's presentation was extremely formal, and his programmes became highly popular as a result. Christopher Stone, an American criminal justice expert, was the President of the Open Society Foundations from 2012-2017, the global philanthropies of George Soros. Prior to assuming this position in July 2012, he served as the Guggenheim Professor of the Practice of Criminal Justice at the Harvard Kennedy School from 2005-2012. While at Harvard University, Stone also served as the faculty chair of the Program in Criminal Justice Policy and Management and as the faculty director of the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations. The fourth series of British talent competition programme ''Britain's Got Talent'' was broadcast on ITV, from 17 April to 5 June 2010; due to live coverage of the 2010 UEFA Champions League Final on 22 May, the sixth audition episode of the series was pushed back a day to avoid clashing with it. Production on the fourth series during the filmed auditions required Louis Walsh to step in as a guest judge, after Simon Cowell became ill and unable to partake in certain sessions. The fourth series was won by gymnastic troupe Spelbound and finishing in first place and dance duo Twist and Pulse finishing in second place. Chris Stone (24 February 1959 – 24 November 2023) was an Australian businessman and Australian rules footballer. He was the husband of former Belgian prime minister Sophie Wilmès. Early life Stone was from Sandy Bay, Tasmania, Australia. He played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Business career After leaving university, Stone began working with the Australian division of Pearl & Dean, a cinema advertising company. He moved to the UK in 1988 and in 1991 became regional sales director of Mills & Allen Outdoor. He transferred to Belgium in 1994 as CEO of Vivendi's Belgian division, comprising Belgoposter Outdoor, Claude Publicité and other media companies. Chris Stone (1935 – September 10, 2016) was an American music industry businessman and writer, and the co-founder with Gary Kellgren of the Record Plant recording studios. Stone's article first appeared in ''EQ'' magazine in November 1996. Stone founded Filmsonix in 1987, sold the Record Plant in 1989, and was the founder and CEO of World Studio Group. He co-founded the Society of Professional Audio Recording Services (SPARS), and he co-founded the Music Producers Guild of the Americas (MPGA), serving as executive director. The MPGA developed into the Producers & Engineers Wing of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS). Christopher Isaac "Biz" Stone (born March 10, 1974) is an American entrepreneur who is a co-founder of Twitter, among other technology companies.
