Christopher Jeffrey Richards (born March 28, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a center-back for club Crystal Palace and the United States national team. Club career FC Dallas Richards was raised in Hoover, Alabama and played youth soccer for Hoover SC. In 2016, Richards was cut from a trial with FC Dallas Academy, and instead joined Texans SC in Houston. Richards then joined FC Dallas Academy in 2017. On April 12, 2018, he signed a professional contract with FC Dallas. Bayern Munich In May 2018, Richards, alongside FC Dallas colleague Thomas Roberts, went to a 10-day trial at FC Bayern Munich as part of an agreement between the two clubs. As a result of his performance during the trial, in July he was offered a one-year loan with the German club. United States Men's National Under-20 Soccer Team
The United States U-20 men's national soccer team is controlled by the United States Soccer Federation. The highest level of competition in which the team competes is the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is held every two years. The United States' best finish came in the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship, when the U.S. beat Iraq in the quarterfinal before losing to Nigeria in overtime in the semifinal and Brazil in the third-place match. Steve Snow tied for second in the tournament with three goals. The U.S. reached the quarterfinals in 1993 but lost to Brazil. The Mexico national under-20 football team represents Mexico in association football at the under-20 age level, and is controlled by the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), the governing body of football in Mexico. 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship
The 2018 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship was the 6th edition of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship (27th edition if all eras included), the men's under-20 international football tournament organized by CONCACAF. It was hosted at Bradenton, Florida, United States between 1–21 November 2018. A new format was announced, removing the regional Central American and Caribbean qualifiers and guaranteeing each entrant a minimum of four competitive games. The competition would determine the four CONCACAF representatives at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, The United States, Mexico, Panama and Honduras qualified.
