Chris Okewulonu
Chris Okewulonu (born December 24, 1960) is a Nigerian Barrister, politician and entrepreneur. He served as the Chief of Staff to Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of Imo State from 3 June 2019 to 15 January 2020 He is a member of the People's Democratic Party. Early life and career Okewulonu was born in Amaeke, Avutu, Obowo in 1960. He was called to the bar in 1986 and started his legal practice with the law firm of the first Civilian Governor of Old Imo State, Chief Sam Mbakwe. He has since held positions in the Nigerian Government such as elected member into the Imo State House of Assembly. He also worked as the Secretary-General, Avutu Development Union from 1988 - 1999. In 1999, he became the executive assistant to the governor of Imo State and in 2001, he became the commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport in Imo State. Chukwuemeka Ihedioha
Emeka Ihedioha (born 24 March 1965) is a Nigerian politician and Businessman. Ihedioha is the governor with the shortest tenure in South Eastern Nigeria. He is the former Governor of Imo State and a former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives. He was removed from office as the Executive Governor of Imo state on January 14, 2020 by the Supreme Court of Nigeria which declared the APC candidate (Hope Uzodinma) the authentic winner of the 2019 Imo gubernatorial election. Ikedi Ohakim (born 4 August 1957) is a Nigerian businessman who became governor of Imo State in the South Eastern region in May 2007, standing for the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA). Sam Mbakwe
Samuel "Sam" Onunaka Mbakwe (1929 – 5 January 2004) also known as Dee Sam was an Igbo politician and first democratic governor of Imo State, southern Nigeria from 1 October 1979 until 31 December 1983. The Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, located in Owerri, the state capital, was renamed after him. In 1981, Sam Mbakwe set up Imo State University. The campus was located in a territory that was ceded to Abia State in 1991 and was re-christened Abia State University. However, Imo State University acquired a new campus in Owerri and still exists.
