Chris Nikou is the current chairman of Football Federation Australia and an Australian lawyer. Career Football Nikou's interest in football began as a player in a local suburban competition in Melbourne. He started to become influential in football when he was appointed as a Director of Football Federation Victoria (served from 2003 – 2008). In 2011, he became Company Secretary of A-League club Melbourne Victory (from April 2011 – October 2014). Nikou was elected Chairman of Football Federation Australia in November 2018. He had served as a Director of Football Federation Australia since 2014. Previously, Nikou was a member of the organising committee for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup held in Australia. Football Australia is the governing body of soccer, futsal, and beach soccer within Australia, headquartered in Sydney. Although the first governing body of the sport was founded in 1911, Football Australia in its current form was only established in 1961 as the Australian Soccer Federation. A list of all Canberra based bids to secure a franchise licence from Football Australia (FA), formally Football Federation Australia (FFA), to enter a team into the top division of men’s association football in Australia, the A-League Men (ALM). The ALM was established in 2005 as the A-League under the leadership of chairman Frank Lowy and CEO John O'Neill (businessman), John O’Neill. A-League Women (known as the Liberty A-League for sponsorship reasons), formerly the W-League, is the top-division women's soccer league in Australia. Alen Stajcic (born 2 November 1973) is a former Australian soccer player and is the head coach of the Philippines women's national football team. While as a footballer he was a NSW Premier League player and an Australian Youth Representative. Since turning his hand to coaching he had become the head coach of the NSWIS women's soccer team, head coach of the Hills Sports High School Football Program and the head coach of the Australia women's national under-20 soccer team.
