Chris Löfvén (born 4 April 1948) is an Australian film maker. He is best known for directing the feature film '' Oz'' (1976) and for directing a number of video clips, including " Eagle Rock". He started making films when he was about 12. ''Oz'' (a.k.a. ''Oz – A Rock 'n' Roll Road Movie'' also released as ''20th Century Oz'' in United States) is a 1976 Australian film written, directed and co-produced by Chris Löfvén. It stars Joy Dunstan, Graham Matters, Bruce Spence, Gary Waddell, and Robin Ramsay; and received four nominations at the 1977 AFI Awards. The musical score is by Ross Wilson (frontman for Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock). The plot is a re-imagining of the 1939 '' The Wizard of Oz'' film transferred to 1970s Australia and aimed at an older teen / young adult audience. It was released on DVD in 2004 as ''Oz - A Rock 'n' Roll Road Movie : Collector's Edition'' with additional material. The poster and album sleeve for the American release was done by rock artist Jim Evans. Eagle Rock (song)
"Eagle Rock" is the debut single by Australian rock band Daddy Cool (band), Daddy Cool, released in 1971 on the Sparmac record label. It went on to become the best-selling Australian single of the year, achieving gold status in eleven weeks, and remaining at List of number-one singles in Australia during the 1970s, No. 1 on the national charts for a (then) record ten weeks. NOTE: Used for Australian Singles and Albums charting from 1970 until ARIA created their own charts in mid-1988. "Eagle Rock" also spent 17 weeks at the No. 1 spot on the Melbourne Top 40 Singles Chart. The song was re-released by Wizard Records in 1982, and reached No. 17 on the Australian singles chart. In New Zealand, the song has charted three times. Lindsay Bourke
Lindsay Bourke (born 1945), who also performed as Lindsay Blue, is an Australian classical and ambient musician, visual artist and poet. He issued two albums in the 1970s, ''Wilderness Awakening'' (1971) and ''Love All Life'' (1975). In the late 1990s he released, ''Millenium Symphony''. In 1966, as a visual artist, he had his debut solo exhibition at a gallery and subsequently delivered Sydney's first sound and light mixed media show at the Cell Block Theatre. Biography Lindsay Bourke was born in 1945. He was classically trained with early influences from Beethoven, Chopin and Mahler, while his later influence was Bob Dylan. ''The Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop'' or ''Rock and Pop'' by Australian music journalist Ian McFarlane is a guide to Australian popular music from the 1950s to the late 1990s. The book has a similar title to the 1978 work by Noel McGrath, ''Australian Encyclopaedia of Rock and Pop'', but is not otherwise related. Publishers, Allen & Unwin described McFarlane's encyclopedia as containing over 870 entries and an "essential reference to the bands and artists who molded the shape of Australian popular music ..in an A-to-Z encyclopedia format complete with biographical and historical details. Each entry also includes listings of original band lineups and subsequent changes, record releases, career highlights, and cross-references with related bands and artists." St Leonards is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. St Leonards is located north-west of the Sydney central business district and lies across the local government areas of Municipality of Lane Cove, North Sydney Council and the City of Willoughby.
