Chris Kelly (TV Presenter)
Christopher Paul Kelly (born 24 April 1940) is an English TV presenter, producer and writer. Education Kelly was born in 1940 at Cuddington in Cheshire. He was educated at Downside School, a Catholic independent school in Stratton-on-the-Fosse in Somerset, followed by Clare College, Cambridge. Career Kelly worked as a continuity announcer for Anglia Television in 1963 before embarking on a long career as a presenter. Kelly is probably best known as the presenter of '' Wish You Were Here...?'', ''Food and Drink'' and ''Clapperboard''. His network television credits include ''Zoo Time'', in succession to Desmond Morris, ''Sixth Form Challenge'', ''The Royal Film Performance'', ''The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition'', ''I've Got a Secret'', ''Kellyvision'', ''Anything You Can Do'', ''Vintage Quiz'', ''Cinema'' and ''Quisine''. Midsummer House is a restaurant located in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, on the bank of the river Cam. It is a Victorian style house that was transformed into a restaurant over 20 years ago. It won its first Michelin star in 2002, and a second in 2005. The chef patron is Daniel Clifford. Description The restaurant is located in a townhouse on the bank of the River Cam, next to Midsummer Common. The location of the restaurant has been a problem in the past. Twice in 2001, the river overflowed its banks and the restaurant was flooded. In February, the water made it into the wine cellars. In November, with over of water covering the foundations and causing extensive damage to the floor of the dining room, the decision was made to close the restaurant for a month and redecorate at the cost of £100,000, including ripping up the damaged floor and replacing it. ''Kavanagh QC'' is a British television series made by Central Television for ITV between 1995 and 2001. All five series are available on DVD in both Region 1 and Region 2. Plot The series starred John Thaw as barrister James Kavanagh QC, who comes from a working-class upbringing in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Although having been alluded to in Series 1 Episode 1, this is only revealed in later episodes as his parents' health deteriorates and through an exchange with a colleague who presumed that Kavanagh was actually a Yorkshireman. Plus, on one occasion Kavanagh dashes off to catch Bolton Wanderers play in a televised football match.
