Chris Joyce
Chris Joyce (born 11 October 1957, Manchester, England) is known for being drummer with various groups, and with Simply Red in the 1980s. Coming from Chorlton, Manchester, he adopted the hippie lifestyle. His most remote band was Fast Breeder, a short-lived late 1970s punk group from Manchester formed by him on drums and Dave Rowbotham on guitar, and managed by Tony Wilson. Wilson called Joyce and Rowbotham to form a band alongside guitarist Vini Reilly and bass guitarist Tony Bowers, The Durutti Column. That line-up released only two songs from Factory's first EP, '' A Factory Sample'', before Joyce. Rowbotham and Bowers quit the band to form another post-punk band around 1979, The Mothmen. The Mothmen released only two studio albums and a number of singles, before disbanding in the 1980s. Chorlton-cum-Hardy
Chorlton-cum-Hardy is a suburban area of Manchester, England, southwest of the Manchester city centre, city centre. Chorlton (ward), Chorlton ward had a population of 14,138 at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 census, and Chorlton Park (ward), Chorlton Park 15,147. By the 9th century, there was an Anglo-Saxon settlement here. In the Middle Ages, improved drainage methods led to population growth. In the late Victorian era, Victorian and Edwardian periods, its rural character made it popular among the middle class. Pink Military (originally Pink Military Stand Alone) were a post-punk band from Liverpool. Mick Hucknall
Michael James Hucknall (born 8 June 1960) is an English singer and songwriter. Hucknall achieved international fame in the 1980s as the lead singer and songwriter of the soul-influenced pop band Simply Red, with whom he enjoyed a 25-year career and sold over 50 million albums. Hucknall was described by Australian music magazine ''Rhythms'' as "one of the truly great blue-eyed soul singers", while '' Q'' credited him with "the most prodigious voice this side of Motown". Early life Hucknall, born at Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester, on 8 June 1960, was an only child. Wadada Magic
''Wadada Magic'' is the second studio album by the band Suns of Arqa, recorded and released in 1983 by Antler Records. The album was produced by Suns of Arqa founder Michael Wadada. The spine of the LP reads "Suns of Arqa Vol III Wadada Magic". The style on this album is quite different from their debut album '' Revenge of the Mozabites'', and the tracks are more dance-oriented. Some of the tracks from this album (A1-A3, B1, B2, B4) were made available on CD in 1992 on the compilation ''Arqaology'', released on Arka Sound. On ''Arqaology'', tracks A1, A2 here are combined as one, as are tracks B1, B2. Track B3 appears on ''Arqaology'' in truncated form (just 22 seconds!), however, it appears in full on their later album ''Magiczna Miłość''. Judy Nylon
Judy Nylon is a widely influential multidisciplinary American artist who moved to London in 1970. She was half of the punk rock music group Snatch, which also featured fellow American expat Patti Palladin (who was later in The Flying Lizards). Rock music aficionados living in New York City and London during the era spanning glam, punk and no wave are likely to appreciate her influence, the bulk of which has not been preserved in print nor on vinyl or CD.
