Chris Gerolmo
Chris Gerolmo is a Golden Globe nominated screenwriter, director, and singer-songwriter best known for writing the screenplay for the multi-Academy Award nominated film '' Mississippi Burning'' and the less successful ''Miles from Home'' starring Richard Gere. He has also written a book about the death of his wife, Joan, from cancer in 2007. This is titled ''Death for Beginners'', published by Patcheny Press in 2011. He lives in Brentwood, California with his three children and stepson. Early life and education He was born to Frank Gero (1929–2014), a former theater actor and stage manager who later became a producer, and Woji Gero who worked alongside her husband in the production business in the mid-1950s. He attended Harvard University in the early 1970s graduating with a BA in Writing & Film-making. Mississippi Burning
''Mississippi Burning'' is a 1988 American crime thriller film directed by Alan Parker that is loosely based on the 1964 murder investigation of Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner in Mississippi. It stars Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe as two FBI agents investigating the disappearance of three civil rights workers in fictional Jessup County, Mississippi, who are met with hostility by the town's residents, local police, and the Ku Klux Klan. Screenwriter Chris Gerolmo began the script in 1985 after researching the 1964 murders of James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner. He and producer Frederick Zollo presented it to Orion Pictures, and the studio hired Parker to direct the film. ''The Bridge'' is an American crime drama television series, developed by Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid, that was broadcast on the FX network, and based on the Danish-Swedish series '' Bron/Broen''. The series stars Diane Kruger and Demián Bichir in leading roles, and co-stars Ted Levine, Annabeth Gish, Thomas M. Wright, Matthew Lillard and Emily Rios in supporting roles. ''The Witness'' is a short film (19 minutes) directed by Chris Gerolmo, starring Gary Sinise and Elijah Wood. Plot Set in a Nazi concentration camp, The Witness shows a series of repeating set of psychological actions. Gary Sinise plays a guard, whose daily routine is to corral Jewish prisoners through a tunnel and into the gas chamber. Each day, as he performs this task, the guard is watched by a Jewish little boy (Elijah Wood), whose piercing stare unsettles him.
