Chris Davies (Liberal Democrat Politician)
Christopher Graham Davies (born 7 July 1954) is a Liberal Democrat politician in the United Kingdom. He is a former Member of Parliament. He served as a Member of the European Parliament for North West England from 1999 to 2014 and from 2019 to 2020. Biography Davies was born in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. His father was a doctor, and his mother a nurse. He was educated at the independent Cheadle Hulme School (1965–1972), at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge (1972–1975, reading history) and from 1975 to 1977 at the University of Kent, Canterbury. Davies is a resident of Greenfield, in Saddleworth, Oldham, Greater Manchester. Political career Local government Davies was a Liberal member of Liverpool City Council from 1980 to 1984, representing Abercromby ward and serving as Chairman of the Housing Committee. Chris Davies (Conservative Politician)
Christopher Paul Davies (born 18 August 1967) is a British politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Brecon and Radnorshire from 2015 to 2019. He is a member of the Conservative Party. Davies won the seat in the 2015 general election when he defeated incumbent Liberal Democrat Roger Williams. On 22 March 2019, he pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud concerning parliamentary expenses; on 21 June he was removed from office by a recall petition. Davies stood again for the Conservatives in the ensuing 1 August by-election, but lost to the Liberal Democrat candidate Jane Dodds. Early life and career Davies attended Morriston School in Wales. Since retiring at the early age of 24 due to incessant shoulder injuries, he has held numerous sports administration positions, including GM Operations of the Australian Cricketers' Association, CEO of the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club, GM Football at the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and is currently the GM Football Operations at the Port Adelaide Football Club (PAFC) in the AFL. Chris Davies (born 27 March 1985) is a professional football coach and former player. He is currently the senior assistant coach of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. Davies was a youth player for Reading and Wales before retiring in 2004, aged 19. He became a football coach, initially coaching youth teams in England and abroad, before becoming assistant to Brendan Rodgers at Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City.
