Chris Carr (basketball)
Chris Dean Carr (born March 12, 1974) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the 2nd round (56th overall) of the 1995 NBA draft, and currently an assistant coach and director of student-athlete development for the Kansas State University women's basketball team. Carr played six seasons in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics. Carr also appeared in the 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, and made it to the final round, before losing to Kobe Bryant. Carr played collegiately at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Ironton, Missouri
Ironton is a city in Iron County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,475 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Iron County, and is located 12 miles south of Belgrade. History Ironton was designated county seat in 1857, soon after the formation of Iron County. Like the county, Ironton was named from the deposits of iron ore found in the vicinity. A post office called Ironton has been in operation since 1858. In early August 1861, Brigader General Sam Grant led a force of four regiments in the area. 1995 NBA Draft
The 1995 NBA draft took place on June 28, 1995, at SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It marked the first NBA draft to be held outside the United States and was the first draft for the two Canadian expansion teams, Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Grizzlies. Kevin Garnett, who was taken fifth in this draft, is notable for being the first player in two decades to be selected straight out of high school. Garnett ultimately gathered fifteen All Star selections, nine All-NBA selections (four of those being First-Teams), one NBA MVP award, and multiple other accolades. Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse also had successful careers, being four-time and two-time All-Stars respectively.
