Chris Boltendahl
Grave Digger is a German heavy metal band that was first formed in 1980 by Chris Boltendahl and Peter Masson. Emerging from the early-to-mid 1980s heavy metal scene of their native country, Grave Digger has been referred to as one of the so-called "big four" of German power metal, along with Helloween, Rage and Running Wild. Band history Early years and split (1980–1987) After various appearances at small festivals, the band recorded two songs for the compilation album ''Rock from Hell'' in 1983. A year later, Grave Digger, now comprising Chris Boltendahl (vocals), Peter Masson (guitar), Willi Lackmann (bass) and Albert Eckardt (drums), released their debut album ''Heavy Metal Breakdown''. In 1985, with Lackmann having left the band, they recorded and released their second album '' Witch Hunter''. Only after the album was completed, a replacement on bass was found in the form of C.F. Brank. Further festival appearances followed, a tour with Helloween as special guest an ...

Thilo Hermann
Thilo Herrmann (born 19 September 1964 in Mühlhausen, East Germany) is a German heavy metal guitarist and songwriter who worked with Grave Digger from 2008-2009. History Prior to joining his latest band Grave Digger in 2007, Herrmann has played with a lot of other different kinds of metal bands. One of the first bigger bands he played with in his career was the heavy metal/hard rock band Faithful Breath (earlier a progressive rock band), which he joined in 1985. That band changed their name to Risk some years after he joined the band. He did not record anything on their first album as Risk, which is called ''The Daily Horror News''. He did come back however in 1989, and during this time in the band he recorded one EP and two albums and then left them again. In 1994 Thilo was recruited as guitarist for the famous German heavy metal band Running Wild, where he played on their album ''Black Hand Inn,'' as well as three other albums. He left the band in 2001 about a year after ...

Annihilator's first two studio albums, ''Alice in Hell'' (1989) and ''Never, Neverland'' (1990), are considered to be influential Canadian heavy metal records. Many of their later albums — including their third, and only major-label album '' Set the World on Fire'' (1993) — also received praise from critics, and ...

Manowar (band)
Manowar is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy (particularly sword and sorcery) and mythology (particularly Norse mythology and Greco-Roman mythology), as well as numerous songs celebrating the genre and its core audience. The band is also known for a loud and emphatic sound. In an interview for MTV in February 2007, bassist Joey DeMaio lamented that "these days, there's a real lack of big, epic metal that is drenched with crushing guitars and choirs and orchestras... so it's nice to be one of the few bands that's actually doing that". In 1984, the band was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for delivering the loudest performance, a record which they have since broken on two occasions. They also hold the world record for the longest heavy metal concert after playing for five hours and 1 minute in Bulgaria (at Kavarna Rock Fest) in 2008. They also have been known for their slogan "Death t ...

The Reaper (Grave Digger Album)
''The Reaper'' is the fifth studio album by German heavy metal band Grave Digger. It was released on 2 November 1993 via the label GUN Records. This was the band's return after a long hiatus, released seven years after their previous album '' Stronger Than Ever''. Background A new line-up was formed except for the band leader, Chris Boltendahl and guitar player Uwe Lulis. The latter had convinced Boltendahl to release a new album in the first place, which was why he later on tried to get the name Grave Digger when he parted from the rest of the band (after the release of Excalibur). In this album there was a change towards darker lyrics and faster songs, as well as the start of the trend of featuring the Grim Reaper on the cover. The album cover image itself is a ''"Dance of Death"'' woodcut by 19th century German artist Alfred Rethel. Much of the material was written in the late 1980s, during Boltendahl's short-lived project, Hawaii. Track listing All songs written and arr ...

Stronger Than Ever (album)
''Stronger Than Ever'' is the fourth studio album by German heavy metal band Grave Digger. However, they changed their name to just "Digger" for this release. Retrospect Records, a little-known record label, very briefly issued a re-release of the album on CD in 2005. The CD was released with presumably no involvement from the band and is considered a bootleg. The CD is no longer available and the only official versions of the album that were released by the band are the vinyl and cassette versions. To this day it remains the only album in Grave Digger's catalog to not receive an official CD release. "Shadows of the Past" borrows two lyrical lines from "Yesterday", a song released on their 1984 album ''Heavy Metal Breakdown''. Track listing Notes * The 1987 cassette release contains an exclusive untitled intro before "Shadows of the Past", which is not listed * The track listing is erroneously printed on the back cover as: * Stand Up and Rock * Wanna Get Close * Lay It On ...
