Chris Benard (born April 4, 1990) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the triple jump. He holds a personal record of , set in 2016. He was a finalist at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Professional Benard made his international debut for his country at the 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships in Athletics. There, he took the silver medal behind fellow American Chris Phipps. 2018 USA Outdoor Track And Field Championships

2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Men's Triple Jump
The men's triple jump at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place on March 19, 2016. In the final, Dong Bin hit 17.18 on his first attempt, enough to win the competition. He later improved upon that with 17.29 in the third round and the ultimate winner 17.33 in the fifth. Benjamin Compaoré held down second place with a 16.77 in the first round, which he steadily improved three times. He looked to have enough for silver until Max Hess took his fourth attempt. On his last visit to Oregon, Hess hit a big personal best to get the World Junior silver medal. 20 months later, he hit another big personal best, a 59 cm (almost 2 feet) improvement to 17.14 to grab the silver. 2022 World Athletics Championships – Men's Triple Jump
The men's triple jump at the 2022 World Athletics Championships was held at the Hayward Field in Eugene on 21 and 23 July 2022. Summary With 17.05m the automatic qualifier, only two jumpers made it on their first attempt, Olympic Gold Medalist Pedro Pichardo and Olympic Silver Medalist Zhu Yaming. Returning bronze medalist Hugues Fabrice Zango and Lázaro Martínez made on their second attempt, Emmanuel Ihemeje, only 2 cm on his first attempt, finally got one on his third. It took 16.68m to get into the final, eliminating defending champion Christian Taylor who is still on the road to recovery from a 2021 achilles rupture. 2022 World Athletics Championships
The 2022 World Athletics Championships was the eighteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships. It was held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States, from July 15–24, 2022, with the country hosting that competition for the first time. The competition was originally scheduled for August 6–15, 2021, but it was postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, World Athletics banned all Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from participating at the championships. In addition, the stringent vaccination requirements for people entering the United States caused visa delays for participants and officials, with some ultimately being unable to enter the country. Athletics At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held during the last ten days of the Games. They were due to be held from 31 July – 9 August 2020, at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games were postponed to 2021, with the track and field events set for 30 July – 8 August. Summary In the first round of the final, Alexis Copello (Azerjaijan) was the first over 17 metres with a jump of 17.16 metres, and Will Claye (USA) took the lead with a 17.54 metre jump. In the second round, Nelson Évora (Portugal) moved into silver medal position, until Christian Taylor (USA) took the lead with a 17.57 metre jump.
