Chris Bauman
Chris Bauman is a Canadian football wide receiver-slotback for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted first overall by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2007 CFL Draft and spent four seasons with the team before joining the Eskimos. He played CIS football for the Regina Rams and was the first player from the University of Regina to be selected first overall in the CFL Draft. Amateur career Bauman played four seasons for the University of Regina Rams in the CIS. Prior to playing for the Rams, he suited up for the Winnipeg Rifles of the Canadian Junior Football League in 2003 and played football at Vincent Massey High School in Brandon. Professional career Bauman was the first overall pick of the 2007 CFL Draft. During his rookie season in the CFL, he had 30 receptions for 370 yards. Regina Rams
The Regina Rams represent the University of Regina, located in Regina, Saskatchewan in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports. The Rams joined U Sports in 1999 and have competed in the Canada West Conference since then. The program has won one U Sports football conference championship, in 2000, and the team has made one appearance in the Vanier Cup championship game. The Rams nickname is used by the university's football team only; all of the other teams at the school are named the Regina Cougars. The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) is a national Major Junior Canadian football league consisting of 19 teams playing in five provinces across Canada. The teams compete annually for the Canadian Bowl. Many CJFL players move on to professional football careers in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and elsewhere. Formed May 8, 1974, the CJFL's formal mission statement is: "The Canadian Junior Football League provides the opportunity for young men aged 17 to 22 to participate in highly competitive post-high school football that is unique in Canada. Winnipeg Rifles
The Winnipeg Rifles are a Canadian football team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Rifles are members of the Canadian Junior Football League and play their home games in Maple Grove Park. History Junior football in Winnipeg dates back to the 1920s, with the formation of the Manitoba Junior Football League. In 1953, teams from Winnipeg began playing in the CJFL, the most successful being the Winnipeg Rods, who won three championships. Those teams would eventually fold or merge. The Winnipeg Hawkeyes were the last Winnipeg-based team prior to the Rifles, folding in 1996.
