Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy
Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy, Bir Bikram, SBP, ndc, psc ( bn, চৌধুরী হাসান সারওয়ার্দী) is a retired lieutenant general of Bangladesh Army and former commandant of National Defence College. He previously served as GOC of Army Training and Doctrine Command ( ARTDOC). Early life He was born in 1960 in Sandwip Thana of Chittagong district. Training and education He was commissioned in the Corps of Infantry on 15 June 1980 with 2nd BMA Long Course. Sarwardy is a graduate both from Defence Services Command and Staff College and National Defence College. He also obtained LLB degree, Master's degree in defense studies, Master's of security studies, Master's in political science, Master's in business administration and M Phil in national development and security studies. Sandwip
Sandwip ( bn, সন্দ্বীপ, Shondip) is an island located along the southeastern coast of Bangladesh in the Chattogram District. Along with the island of Urir Char, it is a part of the Sandwip Upazila. Description Sandwip is located in the north-east of the Bay of Bengal, near the port city of Chittagong. It is close to the mouth of the Meghna River in the Bay of Bengal and is separated from the Chittagong coast by Sandwip Channel. It has a population of nearly 700,000. There are fifteen wards, 62 ''mahallas'' and 34 villages on Sandwip Island. The island is long and wide. Defence Services Command And Staff College
The Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) is situated at Batalanda, Makola (South) 12 Kilometers away from Colombo and its aim to develop the professional knowledge and understanding of experienced officers of the Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy & the Sri Lanka Air Force to prepare them for the ranks of junior field officers in the army and the respective ranks of the Navy and Air force. Chittagong Hill Tracts
The Chittagong Hill Tracts ( bn, পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রাম, Parbotto Chottogram), often shortened to simply the Hill Tracts and abbreviated to CHT, are group of districts within the Chittagong Division in southeastern Bangladesh, bordering India and Myanmar (Burma). Covering , they formed a single district until 1984, when they were divided into three districts: Khagrachari District, Rangamati Hill District, and Bandarban District. Topographically, the Hill Tracts are the only extensively hilly area in Bangladesh. Mymensingh Cantonment
Mymensingh Cantonment (Officially known as Momenshahi Cantonment) was the headquarters of the 19th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army. Presently it has the headquarters of ARTDOC which consists of its Battle Group and all the training institutions. The 77th Infantry Brigade under 19th Infantry Division is located there. The first General Officer Commanding of ARTDOC was Major General Md Zia-Ur-Rahman.
