Chor Lau Heung (1979 TV Series)
''Chor Lau-heung'' is a Hong Kong wuxia television series adapted from the first three novels in the ''Chu Liuxiang'' novel series by Taiwanese writer Gu Long. Adam Cheng starred as the titular protagonist, Chor Lau-heung (Cantonese for "Chu Liuxiang"). The series was first broadcast on TVB on September 3, 1979. The 65 episodes long series was divided into four parts: ''The Legend of Mo-fa'' (無花傳奇), ''The Great Desert'' (大沙漠), ''Legend of the Divine Palace'' (神宮傳奇) and ''The Final Battle'' (最後一戰). Adam Cheng
Adam Cheng Siu-chow (born 24 February 1947) is a Hong Kong TVB actor and Cantopop singer. Career Cheng started his career in the 1970s, where he gained a reputation for playing the lead roles in TVB ''Wuxia'' drama series based on the works of Louis Cha and Gu Long, such as ''The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber'' and '' Chor Lau Heung''. He also performed some of the theme songs of the TV series he starred in, such as ''The Greed of Man'' and ''Cold Blood Warm Heart''. Susanna Au-yeung
Susanna Au-yeung (; 6 December 1953 – 9 July 2017) was a Hong Kong actress. Born Chan Kit Ying (), Au-yeung began acting in the 1960s and retired in 1993, ostensibly because she was chosen as a backup for actresses who decided to leave their roles on multiple drama series especially at TVB in projects such as ''Don't Look Now'' () and ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly''. In 1993, Au-yeung trained and became an acupuncturist in Hong Kong. Au-yeung was married to actor Kwok Fung from 1977 to her death at the age of 63 in 2017 of lung cancer. It Takes A Thief (1979 TV Series)
''It Takes a Thief'' is a Hong Kong television series adapted from Gu Long's ''Chu Liuxiang Series''. The series was first broadcast on Rediffusion Television, RTV (now Asia Television, ATV) in Hong Kong in September 1979. Changes in title and characters' names The series' original Chinese title was 盜帥留香 (''Dou Seoi Lau Heung''; literally "Chu Liuxiang, Bandit Chief Liuxiang"). It was released around the same time as ''Chor Lau-heung (1979 TV series), Chor Lau-heung'', a similar television series produced by Television Broadcasts Limited, TVB. Rediffusion Television, RTV and TVB became involved in copyright lawsuits against each other because of similarities between ''It Takes a Thief'' and ''Chor Lau-heung''. TVB won the lawsuits and eventually RTV had to change the Chinese title of ''It Takes a Thief'' from 盜帥留香 to 俠盜風流, and the names of characters in the television series. Dick Liu Kai-chi (, 30 September 1953 – 28 March 2021) was a Hong Kong actor, best known for his everyman supporting roles. His career spanned over 40 years, with appearances in over 90 television series and 70 films. He earned eight nominations at the Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor, two of which he won; one for his role in the 1992 comedy ''Cageman,'' and the other for the action thriller ''Beast Stalker'' in 2009. Kent Tong
Kent Tong (; born 29 September 1958) is a Hong Kong actor. He was a popular TVB actor during the 1980s, nicknamed "Prince" and one of the "Five Tiger Generals" of TVB. Early life Kent Tong was born to and grew up in a poor family in Hong Kong. His father was a fisherman who always caught seafood to feed his family. All 12 members of his family lived in a small-sized living room that was only 30 square meters. After graduating from high school, he worked on a salary of around 500 Hong Kong dollars per month. Kong Ngai (born Tang Siu Ji; October 1936 – 13 March 2013) was a Hong Kong actor with TVB and ATV. Early years Born in China in 1936 as Tang Siu Ji, Kong's affluent family fled to Macau during World War II and later migrated to Hong Kong. Before acting he was a stockbroker and a Cantonese opera singer. Acting career Kong was hired by TVB in 1974 and stayed with the station until 1996. Kwan Hoi-san
Herman Kwan Hoi-San () (born Kwan Ming-kok; October 23, 1925 – September 11, 2006) was a Hong Kong actor. His English name was Herman Kwan. Kwan started off as a Cantonese opera actor in street theatre before joining New Voice Opera Troupe (新聲劇團). He also started singing for early Hong Kong film soundtracks and moved on to act in films, mostly adaption of opera in Cantonese. He became famous and acted in many lead roles. When Hong Kong films started to move towards Mandarin, Kwan's career faltered and joined TVB and acted in various roles. Directors and filmmakers rediscovered his talent and cast him in many supporting roles in films. In 2001, Kwan suffered a stroke and was left mute and paralysed. He died in 2006.
