Chopper Command
''Chopper Command'' is a horizontally scrolling shooter released by Activision for the Atari 2600 in June 1982. It was written by Bob Whitehead. Gameplay In ''Chopper Command'', the player controls a military helicopter in a desert scenario protecting a convoy of trucks. The goal is to destroy all enemy fighter jets and helicopters that attack the player's helicopter and the friendly trucks traveling below, ending the current wave. The game ends when the player loses all of his or her lives or reaches 999,999 points. A radar, called a Long Range Scanner in the instruction manual, shows all enemies, including those not visible on the main screen. The player's helicopter is destroyed if it collides with an enemy aircraft or a truck (which would destroy the truck as well) or if it is shot by an enemy bullet. Sears licensed the console and many games from Atari, Inc., selling them under different names. A few cartridges were Sears exclusives. ''Activision Anthology'' is a compilation of most of the Atari 2600 games by Activision for various game systems. It also includes games that were originally released by Absolute Entertainment and Imagic, as well as various Homebrew (video games), homebrew games. The Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X versions are titled ''Activision Anthology: Remix Edition'', and include the most games. The PlayStation Portable version is titled ''Activision Hits Remixed''. The game features the original gameplay of the Atari 2600 Emulator, emulated on modern systems.
