''Chopin: Desire for Love'' ( pl, Chopin. Pragnienie miłości) is a film created by the director Jerzy Antczak based on the life story of the Polish pianist and composer Frédéric Chopin. The plot covers the affair between Chopin and feminist writer George Sand. Jerzy Antczak (born 25 December 1929, in Włodzimierz Wołyński) is a Polish film director. His film ''Nights and Days'' was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival. Jerzy Antczak was the co-founder, Artistic Director and Chief Producer of “Masterpiece Theatre” which was produced on Polish Television. He is a professor at the UCLA. Wojciech Grzymała
Wojciech Grzymała (23 April 1793 - 16 December 1871), also known as Albert Grzymala or Albert Grzymała, was a Polish soldier, politician, and banker who was a close associate in Paris of Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. Grzymała was born in Dunajowce (now Dunaivtsi, Ukraine). He began attending military school in 1807, and took part in the Battle of Borodino (1812), for which he received the medal Virtuti Militari. A freemason, and active in Polish politics during the 1820s, he was a principal orator at the funeral of Stanisław Staszic (1826). In 1828-1829, he was imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg for his association with the Polish ''Towarzystwo Patriotyczne'' (Patriotic Society). As a director of the first Bank of Poland, he negotiated in London and Paris for financial and other support for Poland after the 1830 November Uprising. Joanna Grudzińska (17 May 1791, Poznań - 17 November 1831, Tsarskoye Selo) was a Polish noble, a Princess of Łowicz and the second wife of Grand Duke Constantine Pavlovich of Russia, the ''de facto'' viceroy of the Kingdom of Poland. This marriage cost Constantine the crown of Russia. Janusz Gajos (; born 23 September 1939) is a Polish film, television and theatre actor as well as pedagogue and photographer. Ludwika Jędrzejewicz (; Chopin; 6 April 1807 – 29 October 1855) was the elder sister of Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. She was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1807, the daughter of Nicolas Chopin and his wife Justyna.
