Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream
Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is a popular ice cream flavor in which unbaked chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough are embedded in vanilla flavored ice cream. History Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream was said to have originated in 1984 at the first Ben & Jerry's "scoop shop" in Burlington, Vermont, from an anonymous suggestion on their flavor suggestion board. In 1991, Ben & Jerry's began selling pints of the flavor which quickly became popular with consumers. By 1992, chocolate chip cookie dough accounted for 20 percent of the company's total ice cream sales, and other ice cream manufacturers such as Dreyer's and Mrs. Fields began making their own versions of the flavor. Preparation Beginning in 1990, Rhino Foods manufactured the cookie dough used in Ben & Jerry's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. They invented a technique for maintaining the chewy consistency of the cookie dough when frozen, which the founder described as a "technological breakthroug ...

Cookies
A cookie is a baked or cooked snack or dessert that is typically small, flat and sweet. It usually contains flour, sugar, egg, and some type of oil, fat, or butter. It may include other ingredients such as raisins, oats, chocolate chips, nuts, etc. Most English-speaking countries call crunchy cookies biscuits, except for the United States and Canada, where biscuit refers to a type of quick bread. Chewier biscuits are sometimes called ''cookies'' even in the United Kingdom. Some cookies may also be named by their shape, such as date squares or bars. Biscuit or cookie variants include sandwich biscuits, such as custard creams, Jammie Dodgers, Bourbons and Oreos, with marshmallow or jam filling and sometimes dipped in chocolate or another sweet coating. Cookies are often served with beverages such as milk, coffee or tea and sometimes "dunked", an approach which releases more flavour from confections by dissolving the sugars, while also softening their texture. Stracciatella (ice Cream)
Stracciatella () is a variety of gelato, consisting of milk-based ice cream filled with fine, irregular shavings of chocolate. It was originally created in Bergamo, northern Italy, at the Ristorante La Marianna in 1961. It was inspired by stracciatella soup, made from egg and broth, which is popular around Rome. It is one of the most renowned Italian gelato flavors. Description Makers produce the effect by drizzling melted chocolate into plain milk ice cream towards the end of the churning process; chocolate solidifies immediately coming in contact with the cold ice cream, and is then broken up and incorporated into the ice cream with a spatula. This process creates the shreds of chocolate that give stracciatella its name. (''Stracciatella'' in Italian means 'little shred'.) While stracciatella ice cream traditionally involves milk, ice cream and milk chocolate, modern variations can also be made with vanilla and dark chocolate. Origin Enrico Panattoni, the owner of ''La Mar ...

Cookie Dough
Cookie dough is an un-cooked blend of cookie ingredients. Cookie dough is normally intended to be baked into individual cookies before eating, however edible cookie dough is made to be eaten as is, and usually is made without eggs to make it safer for human consumption. Cookie dough can be made at home or bought pre-made in packs (frozen logs, buckets, etc.). Dessert products containing cookie dough include ice cream and candy. In addition, pre-made cookie dough is sold in different flavors. When made at home, common ingredients include flour, butter, white sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and eggs. If the dough is made with the intention of baking, then leavening agents such as baking soda or baking powder are added. Vanilla Ice Cream
Vanilla is frequently used to flavor ice cream, especially in North America, Asia, and Europe. Vanilla ice cream, like other flavors of ice cream, was originally created by cooling a mixture made of cream, sugar, and vanilla above a container of ice and salt. The type of vanilla used to flavor ice cream varies by location. In North America and Europe consumers are interested in a more prominent, smoky flavor, while in Ireland, a more anise-like flavor is desired. To create the smooth consistency of ice cream, the mixture has to be stirred occasionally and then returned to the container of ice and salt to continue the solidification process. According to ''Iced: 180 Very Cool Concoctions'', many people often consider vanilla to be the " default" or "plain" flavor of ice cream (see "Plain vanilla"). History Vanilla was first used among the Mexica. By the 1510s, Spanish conquistadors, exploring present-day Mexico, had come across Mesoamerican people who consumed vanilla in their dr ...
