Chocolate City (film)
''Chocolate City'' is a 2015 American comedy-drama film directed and written by filmmaker Jean-Claude La Marre. The film stars Robert Ri'chard, Michael Jai White, Carmen Electra and Vivica A. Fox. The plot is about the life for a struggling college student changes in an instant when he meets the owner of a male strip club who convinces him to give amateur night a whirl. This film was shot in Inglewood, California and was released in a limited release and through video on demand outlets on May 22, 2015. A 2017 sequel named '' Chocolate City: Vegas Strip'' is available on Netflix. Jean-Claude La Marre
Jean-Claude La Marre is a Haitian-American actor, writer, and director. His acting credits include the films ''Malcolm X'' and ''Dead Presidents''. On television, he has guest-starred on ''New York Undercover'', ''Law & Order'', and ''NYPD Blue''. He is also the writer and director of the independent films ''Gang of Roses'' and ''Go for Broke''. Early life and education La Marre was born in Brooklyn and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Brooklyn College. At 22 years old, he served as chairman of the University Student Senate at the City College of New York. LaMarre also won the 1992 National Collegiate debate tournament held in Boulder, Colorado. Carlos Emmanuel Olivero (born July 16, 1989), better known as Carlito Olivero, is an American singer and actor of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent. From 2007 to 2009, he was part of the Latin boy band Menudo after taking part in MTV's '' Making Menudo''.
