Yen Press, LLC is an American manga and graphic novel publisher co-owned by Kadokawa Corporation and Hachette Book Group. It published ''Yen Plus'', a monthly comic anthology, between 2008 and 2013. In addition to translated material, Yen Press has published original series, most notably a manga adaptation of James Patterson's ''Maximum Ride'' and Svetlana Chmakova's '' Nightschool''. History Yen Press was founded in 2006 by former Borders Group buyer Kurt Hassler and DC Comics VP Rich Johnson. In July 2007, it was announced that Yen Press was to absorb ICEkunion, a Korean publisher that had been publishing manhwa in the United States. While the manga titles bearing ICEkunion's label would be continued to be sold in stores, subsequent printings would bear the Yen Press logo. ICEkunion
ICEkunion() is a company that was created by Sigongsa, Seoul Munhwasa(two of the four largest media empires in Korea) and Haksan Publishing that published South Korean manhwa comics in the United States. The firm's industry experience come from Studio ICE. Titles were licensed from manhwa publishing companies that originally sold them in The Republic of Korea in the Korean language. According to ainterview conducted by ICV2 the original creators themselves were involved in the adaptation process for the English-language markets. In July 2007 it was announced through PW Comic Week that Ice Kunion was going to be completely absorbed by Yen Press, Hatchette's new manga impress. Manga released through ICEkunion is expected to be picked up through the new company, but will not release until spring 2008. ''Beautiful Creatures'' is a 2009 American young adult novel written by authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and the first book in the ''Caster Chronicles'' series. The book was published on December 1, 2009, by Little, Brown, and Company. In the UK, ''Beautiful Creatures'' is published by Penguin Books. On January 3, 2013, a new edition of the novel was published, featuring images from the movie on the cover. Anime NYC is an annual three-day anime convention held during November at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Programming The convention typically offers arcade games, an artist alley, concerts, manga library (Carolina Manga Library), masquerade, panels, screenings, vendors, and video and card games. is a Japanese ''yonkoma'' comedy manga series written and illustrated by Kiyohiko Azuma. It was serialized from February 1999 to May 2002 in the monthly magazine ''Dengeki Daioh'' by MediaWorks; three additional chapters were published in Shogakukan's ''Monthly Shōnen Sunday'' in May 2009 to celebrate the manga's tenth anniversary.
