Chita, Republic Of Tatarstan
Chita (russian: Чита́; tt-Cyrl, Чыты, translit=Çıtı ) is a village ('' selo'') in Pestrechinsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, situated east of Pestretsy, the administrative center of the district. The village is situated on the Myosha River. Chita's population was 555 in 1989 and 499 in 2000; mostly ethnic Tatars (as of 1989). The Volga Tatars or simply Tatars ( tt-Cyrl, татарлар, tatarlar) are a Turkic ethnic group native to the Volga-Ural region of Russia. They are subdivided into various subgroups. Agriculture or farming is the practice of cultivating plants and livestock.
