Chinese Taipei competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 to 18 September 2016. Delegation Chinese Taipei sent a team of 13 athletes, 5 men and 8 women, and 4 officials to the 2016 Summer Paralympics. They competed archery, athletics, judo, powerlifting, table tennis and wheelchair tennis. Visual impairment, also known as vision impairment, is a medical definition primarily measured based on an individual's better eye visual acuity; in the absence of treatment such as correctable eyewear, assistive devices, and medical treatment– visual impairment may cause the individual difficulties with normal daily tasks including reading and walking. Low vision is a functional definition of visual impairment that is chronic, uncorrectable with treatment or correctable lenses, and impacts daily living. As such low vision can be used as a disability metric and varies based on an individual's experience, environmental demands, accommodations, and access to services. Archery At The 2012 Summer Paralympics – Men's Individual Recurve
The Men's individual recurve archery discipline at the 2012 Summer Paralympics was contested in two classifications, one combined of W1/W2 wheelchair competitors and one for standing archers. The competitions ran from August 30 to September 3. In the ranking rounds each archer shot 72 arrows. In the knock-out stages each archer shot three arrows per set, scoring two points for a won set and one for a draw. Matches were won by the first archer to six points. World Archery Federation
The World Archery Federation (WA, also and formerly known as FITA from the French ''Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc'') is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. History FITA was founded on 4 September 1931 in Lwow, Poland (today Lviv, Ukraine). Its seven founding member states were France, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Poland, the United States, Hungary, and Italy. Swimming at the 2016 Paralympic Games was held from 8 to 17 September 2016 at Rio Olympic Aquatics Stadium. The competition consisted of 152 events, across multiple classifications, and all swum in a long course (50-metre) pool. Up to 600 swimmers (340 males, 260 females) competed in the Games.
