The 2000 Chinese Jia-A League season is the seventh season of professional association football and the 39th top-tier overall league season in China. It was named the Pepsi Chinese Jia-A League for sponsorship reasons, while the league started on March 19 and ended on October 1, 2000, and saw Dalian Shide win the championship. Chinese Jia-A League
The National Football Jia A League (simplified Chinese, commonly known as Jia-A, was the highest tier of professional football in the People's Republic of China, during 1994 through 2003, operating under the auspices of the Chinese Football Association. The Chinese Professional Football League was established in 1994. Under the direct supervision of the CFA's Professional League Committee, this nationwide league was divided into Divisions 1 and 2. Division 1 was subdivided into Divisions 1A and 1B, Jia A and Jia B, Jia being the Chinese word for top or first. Division 2 was and still is subdivided into regional divisions. Beijing Guoan Football Club () is a professional football club that currently participates in the Chinese Super League under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in the Chaoyang District in Beijing and their home stadium is the Workers' Stadium with a seating capacity of 66,161. In early 2021, the shareholders changed from the real estate company Sinobo Group (64%) and CITIC Limited (36%) of CITIC Group to solely Sinobo Group (100%). The club is one of the four teams to have never been relegated from the league since its debut in 2004. Miroslav Bičanić
Miroslav Bičanić (born 29 October 1969) is a Croatian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent his club career in Croatia, Germany, Israel and China and made two appearances for the Croatia national team scoring one goal. Club career Bičanić was born in Đakovo. He moved to Bundesliga team MSV Duisburg in 1996, but played only 14 matches (one goal) in the championship and in the German Cup (one goal against Energie Cottbus). In the 1997–98 season, Bičanić played for Hapoel Haifa and reached the third place in the championship. His goal against Maccabi Tel Aviv was "Goal of the Year". After that he returned to Germany, signing with Hansa Rostock. Guangzhou City Football Club (广州城) is a Chinese professional football club that competes in the Chinese Super League under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Guangzhou, Guangdong, and their home venue is the Yuexiushan Stadium which has a seating capacity of 18,000. They are owned by the Chinese property developers R&F Properties who took charge in June 2011. The club's name between 2011 and 2020 was Guangzhou R&F, which was short for ''rich (富)'' and ''force (力)''. The club changed its name to Guangzhou City in December 2020. The club was founded in 1986 in Shenyang, Liaoning as Shenyang Football Team. Serhiy Mykolayovych Nahornyak ( uk, Сергій Миколайович Нагорняк; born 5 September 1971) is a Ukrainian professional football coach and former player. Club career Nahornyak started his career at local amateur but well established football club Intehral playing at regional level. He made his debut at professional level in April 1993 in the Ukrainian First League for FC Vorskla Poltava playing against FC Avtomobilist Sumy. Mark Williams (born 11 August 1966) is a South African former international footballer who played as a forward for many clubs throughout his career, including Corinthians (Brazil), Wolverhampton Wanderers (England), Chongqing Lifan (China), Qingdao Zhongneng (China) and RWDM (Belgium). At Wolves he scored once; his goal coming in a League Cup tie against Fulham in October 1995. Internationally he is predominantly remembered for being in the squad that played in the 1996 African Cup of Nations where he was the joint second scorer with 4 goals, and scored both goals in the final after coming on as a substitute, in which South Africa beat Tunisia 2–0 to win the cup for the first time. Wang Tao (Simplified Chinese: 王涛; 22 April 1970 – 3 November 2022) was a Chinese professional footballer who played as a striker. He made two appearances for the China national team. After his retirement he helped establish the newly formed Beijing Baxy football team and would become their chairman until he left in 2011. Biography Wang Tao was a highly prolific striker who rose to prominence with Dalian Wanda FC during the period when the Chinese league moved towards full professionalism. Chinese Football Association Jia League
The Chinese Football Association China League (), also known as China League One or Chinese Jia League (中甲联赛), is the second level of professional football in China. Above League One is the Chinese Super League. Prior to the formation of the Chinese Super League, Jia League was known as ''Jia B League''. The then top two levels of Chinese football league were known as ''Jia A League'' and ''Jia B League'' respectively. ''Jia A'' was rebranded as CSL and ''Jia B'' was rebranded as the current Jia League in 2004. Below the Jia League is the Yi League, following the Chinese Heavenly Stems naming convention of numbers. Qingdao Hainiu Football Club (, known as Hai-niu or literally Sea Bull) is a professional Chinese football club that currently participates in the China League Two division under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA).
