China Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The Chinese women's national sevens rugby union team were the 2014 Asian women's sevens champions. They qualified for the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens after finishing the 2017 Asia Rugby Women's Sevens Series in second place, they placed 12th overall at the World Cup. China qualified for the 2020 Olympics at the 2019 Asia Rugby Women's Sevens Olympic Qualifying Tournament. 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens – Women's Tournament
The inaugural women's tournament in the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens was held at The Sevens in Dubai alongside the men's tournament. The tournament was held from 6 March to 7 March, with Australia beating New Zealand 15−10 at the final. Asia Rugby, formerly the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU), is the governing body of rugby union in Asia under the authority of World Rugby. Founded in 1968 by eight charter nations, the Union today has 36 member unions in countries across Asia, stretching from Kazakhstan to Guam.
