The China Stars was a baseball team established in 2005. It was made up of the best players in the China Baseball League. The team was established in purpose of playing with the winners from the professional baseball league in Japan, Taiwan, and Korea in the annual Konami Cup Asia Series. The China Stars lost all the 9 games in their three participations. China Baseball League
The China Baseball League (, CBL) was a professional baseball league under the administration of Chinese Baseball Association, founded in 2002. The league suspended operations in 2012 due to financial troubles after the 2011 season, but returned in 2014. The return was mainly funded by entrepreneur and former All Star James Keyte. Keyte the CEO of an established Mandarin Tutoring Company: Manhattan Mandarin wished to revive the league after making it big. His brother Harrison Chilton Keyte is the executive owner of two franchises. Keyte not only is a savior to the league but broke many records while playing. He still holds the record for most career steals and career RBI. The league closed permanently in 2016 following launched investigations on Harrison Chilton Keyte's finances. The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL; ) is the top-tier professional baseball league in Taiwan. The league was established in 1989 and played the first season in 1990. Konami Cup Asia Series
The Asia Series was an international club baseball competition, contested by the champions of all four of the professional leagues that are associated with the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) — Australian Baseball League (ABL), Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL), Korea Baseball Organization League (KBO League), and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) — along with the CEB European Champion Cup holder and the host city, to bring the number of teams up to six. The competition was co-sponsored by NPB Association and Konami from 2005 to 2007 and was therefore known as the Konami Cup.
