China Association For Promoting Democracy
The China Association for Promoting Democracy ( zh, s=中国民主促进会, p=Zhōngguó Mínzhǔ Cùjìnhuì) is one of the eight legally recognised minor political parties in the People's Republic of China that follow the direction of the Chinese Communist Party and is a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. It was formed on 30 December 1945, and mainly represents high-level intellectuals engaged in education and cultural publishing media. It holds seats in the National People's Congress of China. Cai Dafeng
Cai Dafeng (; born 1960) is a Chinese politician and architect currently serving as chairperson of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (2017–present) and Vice Chairperson of the 13th National People's Congress Standing Committee (2018–present). Cai was born in Shanghai in 1960. From 1978 to 1985 he was educated at Tongji University, majoring in architecture, where he graduated in 1985 and obtained a master's degree. In the same year he became a cadre in Shanghai Museum. In February 1987, he studied for a doctorate degree in architecture at Tongji University. In October 1990, he served as a lecturer in the Department of Architecture of Tongji University. In September 1993, he served successively as associate professor, professor, associate dean and dean of the Department of Culture and Museology of Fudan University. Ye Shengtao
Ye Shengtao (28 October 1894 – 16 February 1988) was a Chinese writer, journalist, educator, publisher and politician. He was a founder of the Association for Literary Studies (), the first literature association during the May Fourth Movement in China. He served as the Vice-Minister of Culture of the People's Republic of China. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to publishing and language education. Xu Jialu
Xu Jialu (; born 1937) was a vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and was head of the College of Chinese Language and Culture at Beijing Normal University. Life Xu was born in Beijing, though his ancestral home is in Huai'an, Jiangsu. He studied at Beijing Normal University from 1954 to 1959 and graduated with a degree in Chinese literature. Lei Jieqiong
Lei Jieqiong (; 12 September 1905 – 9 January 2011), also known as Kit King Lei, was a Chinese sociologist, activist, and politician. Educated in the United States, she taught at Yenching University, China University of Political Science and Law, and Peking University in Beijing, and Soochow University, St. John's University, University of Shanghai, and Aurora University in Shanghai. She was a cofounder of Zhongzheng University in Jiangxi during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Zhou Jianren
Zhou Jianren (; 1888–1984) was a politician and biologist of the People's Republic of China. He was the younger brother of Lu Xun and Zhou Zuoren. When the office of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress was vacant in 1976, Zhou was one of the 20 vice chairmen who administered the position.
