Chin Student Association
The Chin Students' Association (CSA) is the student body of the Zomi people living in the country of India. It is one of the main bodies of the TCU or Tedim Chin Union. There is also another body known as the CYA, or Chin Youth Association. It is the youth organ of the Chin. It works for the development and upliftment of the Chin people. There is also a Tedim Chin Cultural Club (TCCC) Hall at Lanva in the Churandpur District of Manipur, India. The Chin Student Association plays an important role in the student activities of the Chin. Tedim People
Tiddim/Tedim also known as Paite are Zomi which are an ethnic group of Myanmar, India and Bangladesh. They generally inhabited Chin State, Southern Manipur and Chittagong hills Bangladesh. They speak the Zomi language (locally known as Zomi pau) which had a total of about 545,000 speakers in 1990. About 380,000 of Zomi lived in Burma with some 230,000 of them residing in India, Bangladesh and further other countries.The Zomi are numbered at about 617,000 people. About 70 percent of the Zomi are Christians, with the remainder practicing indigenous religions. The Bible was translated into Zomi in 1983, although the New Testament had been translated into and published in Zomi in 1932. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) () is a right-wing all India student organisation affiliated to the Hindu nationalist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). History The ABVP, founded in 1948 with the initiative of the RSS activist Balraj Madhok, was formally registered on 9 July 1949. Its purpose when founded was to counter communist influence on university campuses. Yashwant Rao Kelkar, a lecturer in Bombay, became its main organiser in 1958. According to the ABVP website, he built the organisation into what it is now and is considered to be 'the real architect of the ABVP'. Zomi
The Zomi are an ethnic group which can be found in India, Myanmar and in Chittagong hill tracks of Bangladesh. The word Zomi is used to describe an ethnic group, which is also known as the Chin people, Chin, the Mizo people, Mizo, the Kuki people, Kuki, or a number of other names based on geographic distribution, that is a member of a large group of related Tibeto-Burman languages, Tibeto-Burman peoples spread throughout the Northeast India, northeastern states of India, northwestern Myanmar (Burma) and the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh.
