Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea
Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea was a football club based in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Vâlcea County, Romania. It was founded in 1946 and dissolved in 2004. It won one Romanian Cup, in 1973. History In 1946 ''Vâlceana'' appeared in the Third Division. In 1947 it changed its name to ''CSM Vâlcea''. The club is relegated and only in 1956 succeeds to return again under the name of ''Flamura Roşie'', the name being changed the next year to ''Unirea'' and in 1958 to ''Şantierul Govora''. It is relegated again, but after one year, the team jumped directly to the Second Division under the name of ''Chimia Govora''. In 1962 the club changed its name again, this time to ''Unirea Râmnicu Vâlcea'', in 1966 to ''Oltul'' and in 1967 to ''Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea''. Since 1960 the squad participated at 10 editions of Liga II, finishing in the top half. One season in Liga III followed, but the team managed to be promoted to the Liga II again. Municipal Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium, frequently used for football (soccer). It is located in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Romania, close to Zăvoi Park. Emil Dumitriu
Emil Dumitriu (born 5 November 1942), commonly known as Nichi Dumitru or Dumitriu II, is a Romanian former footballer who played as a forward. Club career Emil "Nichi" Dumitriu was born on 5 November 1942 in Bucharest, Romania, starting to play youth level football in 1957 at Locomotiva București, afterwards moving at Progresul CPCS București. He made his Divizia A debut on 25 March 1962, playing for Jiul Petroșani in a 3–2 victory against UTA Arad. In the following season he played in the first half at Viitorul București, moving in the second half at Rapid București. During his period spent at Rapid, he made a successful couple in the team's offence with Ion Ionescu, winning the first league title from the club's history in the 1966–67 season in which he was used by coach Valentin Stănescu in 26 matches in which he scored 12 goals, also winning two Balkans Cup. The 1977–78 Divizia B was the 38th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained to three series, each of them having 18 teams. Liga IV
Liga IV is the fourth level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia D into Liga IV before the start of play for the 2006–07 season. Current format Liga IV has 42 divisions. The divisions are regionalised and are organised by every county association. Each team plays in their own county. The county associations decide how many teams play in the league and how many matches each side plays. In Romania the most frequently used system is one division with matches played home and away. A number of associations prefer 2 or even 4 parallel divisions with the teams finishing first meeting in a play-off to decide the champion. The number of teams differ from one county association to another. The Mureș County association has the fewest teams, 8, which play in a Scottish system, playing 4 times against one another. Gabriel Stan
Gabriel Stan (born 25 June 1952) is a Romanian Head coach, football manager. He is sometimes nicknamed Gabello. Coaching career Braşov Stan is known as the last manager to qualify FC Brașov (1936), FC Brașov in a European competition. In the 2000–01 Divizia A, 2000–2001 Romanian Division A he managed with Braşov a third spot finish, thus qualifying to the 2001–02 UEFA Cup, UEFA Cup, where the club subsequently managed to meet with Internazionale Milano. However, because he had signed a contract with FC Astra Ploieşti, Astra Ploieşti in the season break, he did not lead the team in the European encounters. He would resign from Astra Ploieşti and return to FC Brașov (1936), Braşov a few months later, from day 9 into the 2001–02 season, but then unluckily resign again in round 23, after a poor run of results. Florin Cheran (born 5 April 1947) is a Romanian former footballer who played as a defender. Club career Florin Cheran was born on 5 April 1947 in Bucharest but spent his childhood in Râmnicu Vâlcea where he played football at junior level at local club, Unirea Râmnicu Vâlcea, also during that period he practiced athletics and volleyball, being national champion at the child level long jump. He started to play football at senior level at Divizia B club, Electronica București. Cheran went to play for Dinamo București, making his Divizia A debut on 16 August 1969, under coach Traian Ionescu in a 5–2 victory against Jiul Petroșani. Romanian Communist Party
The Romanian Communist Party ( ro, Partidul Comunist Român, , PCR) was a communist party in Romania. The successor to the pro-Bolshevik wing of the Socialist Party of Romania, it gave ideological endorsement to a communist revolution that would replace the social system of the Kingdom of Romania. After being outlawed in 1924, the PCR remained a minor and illegal grouping for much of the interwar period and submitted to direct Comintern control. Glentoran Belfast
Glentoran Football Club is a professional football club that plays in the NIFL Premiership. The club was founded in 1882. History Early history In 1914, Glentoran won the Vienna Cup, becoming the first United Kingdom team to win a European trophy, although as this competition took place several decades before the formation of UEFA, it is not recognised as such. 1960s George Best watched Glentoran with his grandfather as a youth, but was rejected by the club for being "too small and light". However, Best did make one appearance for Glentoran, in the club's centenary match against Manchester United. In 1964–65, Glentoran faced Panathinaikos in the European Cup and drew 2–2 at home and lost 3–2 away.
