Chimdi Chekwa (born October 7, 1988) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Ohio State. He was drafted by the Raiders in the fourth round in the 2011 NFL Draft. College career As a senior in 2010, Chekwa was named a first-team All-American by the FWAA and ''College Football News''. Professional career Oakland Raiders Chekwa was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round, 113th overall, in the 2011 NFL Draft. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties.
