Chili's Blues
''Chili's Blues'' (french: C'était le 12 du 12 et Chili avait les blues, lit. "It Was the 12th of December and Chili Had the Blues") is a Canadian romantic drama film, directed by Charles Binamé and released in 1994.Gerald Pratley, ''A Century of Canadian Cinema''. Set in 1963 and taking place in a train station in Montreal where passengers are temporarily stranded due to a snowstorm, the film centres on the interactions between Pierre-Paul (Roy Dupuis), a salesman, and Chili (Lucie Laurier), a depressed college student who is considering suicide, as they meet and fall in love while waiting for train services to resume. The cast also includes Joëlle Morin, Julie Deslauriers, Emmanuel Bilodeau, Pierre Curzi, Normand Chouinard and Élise Guilbault. Charles Binamé
Charles Binamé (born May 25, 1949) is a Quebec director. He was born in Belgium and came to Montreal with his family at a young age. He joined the National Film Board of Canada as an assistant director in 1971, but soon left for the private sector. During the 1970s, he mostly directed documentaries for Quebec television, and in the 1980s he directed over 200 television commercials, including some in England. When he returned to Canada in the early 1990s, he directed two of Quebec's most popular television series of all time, ''Blanche'' (the sequel to the series ''Les Filles de Caleb'') and ''Marguerite Volant''. The former won him seven Prix Gémeaux and the FIPA d'Or at Cannes Film Festival for best drama series. Élise Guilbault (born April 8, 1961) is a Canadian film and television actress. She won the Genie Award for Best Actress for her role in the film ''The Woman Who Drinks (La Femme qui boit)'', and was a nominee for ''Cap Tourmente''. Pierre Curzi
Pierre Curzi (born February 11, 1946 in Montreal, Quebec) is an actor, screenwriter and politician in Quebec. He is a former Member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA) for the riding of Borduas in the Montérégie region south of Montreal. Elected under the Parti Québécois (PQ) banner, he later sat as an independent. Politics Curzi entered politics when he announced his candidacy for the riding of Borduas in the 2007 provincial elections, following the retirement of Jean-Pierre Charbonneau. He defeated the Action démocratique du Québec's Claude Gauthier by over 2,000 votes. He was later named the PQ critic for culture, communications and language. Curzi was forced to apologize and retract a statement he made in October 2007 during a radio interview that appeared to suggest that a sovereign Quebec would have "more teeth" and could potentially remove the voting rights of Quebec's English-speaking community living on Montreal's West Island.
